Czinano continues with a truly inspired year of play, leading a rebuilding team to a 15-5 record and #12AA in our rankings. She scored 58 points in a pair of wins last week to raise her average to 24 ppg for the season.
Jordyn Glynn, Grand Meadow, 5-10, junior, wing
Glynn has led a young team to an 18-4 record and a #18A ranking. She scored 48 points last week in a pair of wins to raise her own scoring average to 18 ppg.
Sam Haiby, Moorhead, 5-10, combo guard
Haiby returned from a knee injury to lead Moorhead past Brainerd 65-52. She scored 21 points with 11 boards and 7 assists in her 1st game back after a one-month layoff.
Ava Hill, Mesabi East, 5-8, sophomore, combo guard
Mesabi went 9-18 a year ago. Now they’re 16-4 after surprising Hibbing 72-69 as Hill outscored the Bluejackets’ Abbey McDonald with 32 points, 2 boards, 4 assists and 4 steals.
Morgan Hill, Mpls. South, 5-10, senior, wing
It was just 3 more nights at the office for Hill, who remained unstoppable with 31, 26 and 28 points in 3 easy wins. She is now the state’s #4 scorer in points per game, #5 in total points.
Yokie Lee, Byron, 6-6, senior, post
Yokie Lee came back from an injury the same night as Sam Haiby and with even better results—32 points, 16 rebounds and 10 blocked shots in a shocking 91-63 demolition of Rochester Lourdes.
Riley Perryman, Park, 5-7, senior, point guard
Perryman outscored Sara Scalia 26-18 on Friday night after scoring 17 against Hastings on Tuesday. Park won 2 more games for a 16-4 record on the season, making them one of the big surprises so far.
Breanna Wendland, Richfield, senior, combo guard
State runner-up a few years ago, Richfield has now been in rebuilding mode for several years, but through no fault of Wendland’s. She scored 52 points last week in a pair of losses—one by 1 point, one by 30—leaving them at 3-16. More often than not this year, she’s been the best player on the floor, and so it was last week, despite the losses.
