The North Oakland Wolfpack used its full-court defense to post a 22-0 run in the Gold Bracket championship game of the 9th grade division at the Cager Invitational on Sunday, beating the Hype Lady Hoopers, 36-12. That finished off a 5-0 weekend that included a narrow, 34-32 win over Michigan Storm-Stillwell, and a 42-35 win over the Jackson Jets in bracket play, en route to the title game. Samantha Aris (2021, Clarkston) and Morgan Hunter (2021, Clarkston) had 11 each to lead the Wolfpack in scoring in the title contest. Lachelle Austin (2021, Henry Ford) had six for Hype Lady Hoopers.
