With the season now moving forward , I will start previewing conferences in the Northern Illinois area. In addition to the previews I will be creating articles that will highlight players from that conference. Next up is the CSL Conference's South division. <p style="text-align: center"><strong>2017-18 Season Conference Standings</strong></p> <p style="text-align: center">Evanston 8-2</p> <p style="text-align: center">New Trier 8-2</p> <p style="text-align: center">Maine South 6-4</p> <p style="text-align: center">Glenbrook South  5-5</p> <p style="text-align: center">Niles West 3-7</p> <p style="text-align: center">Niles North  0-10</p> <p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt">2018-19 Division Outlook/Team Capsules</span></strong></p> The 6 teams in the CSL South Division all play very good basketball . New Trier , Maine South and Evanston appear to be have slight advantage over the other teams in the conference race . However, don't count out Glenbrook South, Niles West and Niles North as to make some noise before the end of the season as they all have enough depth and experience to play be competitive in conference  Good Luck and Play Hard ! <div></div> <div><span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>Niles North Vikings</strong> </span></div> <div><span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>Head Coach</strong>: Dan Paxson </span></div> <div><span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>Last year's record</strong> : 5-24</span></div> <div><span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>Last year's conference record</strong> 0-10</span></div> <div></div> <div><span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>Coaches Comments/ Team Overview</strong></span></div> <div><span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>Key Returning Players</strong> : </span></div> <div><span style="font-size: 12pt">We have several returning varsity players from last year. But, we return our best player in senior Lauren D'Souza. Lauren missed the entire season last year, so we are really excited about her return. Lauren can play multiple positions including Point Guard and she can also play in the low post. She has worked extremely hard in the off-season to prepare herself for her senior year. I know she is excited about the season! She is one of the most committed players I have ever coached in my 18 year coaching career.</span></div> <div></div> <div><span style="font-size: 12pt">We will also be a fairly young team this year. Another returning varsity player this season is sophomore Albiona Ahmeti. Albiona played significant minutes last year as a freshman and has put in a lot of work this offseason. Albiona plays point guard and off-guard. </span></div> <div></div> <div><span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>Key Newcomers: </strong></span></div> <div><span style="font-size: 12pt">As a program, we are excited about our freshmen class. And, our returning sophomore class is hungry and gave us a tremendous summer.</span></div> <div></div> <div><span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>One thing we should know about your team</strong> : Our varsity team will not have a lot of size this year, but we will work hard and be scrappy. We are emphasizing an offensive and defensive attack mentality and hope to get out and play with pace.</span></div> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>New Trier Trevians</strong></span> <span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>Head Coach</strong>: Teri Rogers </span> <p style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>Last Season Overall Team Record</strong> : 24-6</span></p> <p style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>Last Season Conference Team Record</strong>: 8-2</span></p> <span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>Key Returning Players</strong> :</span> <p style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-size: 12pt">Colleen Condon, 5’10”, F, Senior</span></p> <p style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-size: 12pt">Cassie Fix, 5’6”, G, Senior</span></p> <p style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-size: 12pt">Rebecca Goldman, 5’9”, F, Senior</span></p> <p style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-size: 12pt">Tinah Hong, 5’6”, G, Junior</span></p> <p style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-size: 12pt">Jessica Kalis, 5’11”, G, Senior</span></p> <p style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-size: 12pt">Taite Ryan, 6’0”, C, Senior</span></p> <p style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-size: 12pt">Kate Sawdey, 5’8”, G, Senior</span></p> <p style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-size: 12pt">Ava Zaslavsky, 5’3”, G, Junior</span></p> <span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>Key Newcomers to the Varsity </strong> :</span> <p style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-size: 12pt">Liv Becker, 5’10”, F, Sophomore</span></p> <p style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>Team Strengths this season:</strong> Depth, scoring, versatility</span></p> <p style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>Team Weakness this season:</strong> Height</span></p> &nbsp; &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>Evanston Wildkits </strong></span> <span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>Head Coach</strong> :Brittany Johnson</span> <span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>Last Season Overall Team Record</strong> : 20-9</span> <span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>Last Season Conference Team Record:</strong>8-2</span> <span style="font-size: 12pt"><strong>Key Returning Players </strong> :</span> <span style="font-size: 12pt">Kayla Henning  5’7  Guard Jr.</span> <span style="font-size: 12pt">Ambrea Gentle 6’2  Forward.
