SubscribeThis past weekend, I had the great opportunity to attend the Chicagoland Invitational Showcase, which featured some of the best teams and players out of Illinois. The event was hosted by Fremd High School and provided much excitement throughout the day. Here are some of the top Shooters that I noticed:
A 5’10’’ Senior Guard from Montini, Zoe Mackay-Zacker is an important leader for the young Bronco team. Not only is she a knockdown shooter with deep range, she is a very crafty passer and likes to get her teammates involved.
Hannah Simmer out of Rock Island is a perfect complement to Illinois Miss Basketball, Brea Beal. The 5’10’’ Forward has a consistent, quick shot and finds openings without the ball. On the defensive side, Simmer rebounds well and plays good on-ball defense.
Fremd’s Junior Olivia Hill has an excellent spot-up three-point shot. The 6’0’’ Forward has the ability to stretch the floor on offense and guard multiple positions on defense.
Hill’s Sophomore teammate from Fremd, Ruthie Montella, also has a very smooth shot from three-point range. In addition, the 6’0’’ Guard possesses great athleticism and can get into the lane with ease. Also a willing rebounder on the defensive end.
