KingCo competitors Eastlake and Inglemoor have played twice already this season with Eastlake winning both of those matchups. This evening’s contest was more of the same as Eastlake won 65-46.
Standout players, stats and takeaways below:
2020 6’3 P Keeli Burton (Eastlake HS) – 20 points, 12 rebounds, 2 blocks
2019 6’0 SF Mae Bryant (Eastlake HS) – 10 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks, 2 steals
2020 5’8 G Lucy Young (Inglemoor HS) – 16 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals
2019 5’10 G Jenna Troy (Inglemoor HS) – 16 points, 4 rebounds
Takeaways:
1) Keeli Burton impresses once again. The Arizona State commit showed off some versatility hitting some from the mid range, as well as dominating inside as usual. Inglemoor just had zero answer for her size and skill inside the paint. She looks to be in the best shape of her life and has an added burst to her attack!
2) Inglemoor has a nice back court tandem between Jenna Troy and Lucy Young. They combined for 32 points, with each scoring 16. Inglemoor may have been overpowered inside, but these two guards still made their presence on the court felt.
3) Eastlake is in very good position right now to make the state championship game. It will be very interesting to see how Bellarmine matches up with Keeli Burton in the semi final. If they play defense how they did today and pound the ball inside to Burton and Bryant, they could be playing in the big one on Saturday.
