In their one game earlier this season, Woodinville pulled off the mid-season upset and defeated the Chargers 72-71 in overtime. In tonight’s game, Kentridge completely controlled the first half, leading 31-20 at the half. The second half was played equally with Kentridge holding onto a 55-44 win.
Top performers:
2019 6’4 F JaQuaya Miller (Kentridge HS) – The UW signee came out ready to play and that meant trouble for Woodinville. Miller is very difficult to handle when she is locked in. She balanced attacking and distributing from the high post very well. She powerful forward ended with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
2020 6’2 F Jordyn Jenkins (Kentridge HS) – The star junior played a really good all around game, hitting the glass and showing skill in the post. Jenkins is known for her power and natural ability, but she has a soft shooting touch and solid foot work. She finished with 24 points and 9 rebounds.
2021 5’10 C Mia Hughes (Woodinville HS) – The work-horse kept on working from start to finish! She finishes inside with the best of them and operates well in straight line drives to her right. She finished with a game high 28 points and added 9 rebounds.
2020 5’7 PG Daylani Ballena (Kentridge HS) – Dayla did her exact job as a point guard and she played pesky defense on Woodinville’s second leading scorer. She controlled the tempo and made shots when the opportunity was there. The floor general had 11 points, 2 blocks and 1 steal.
Kentridge will have a huge semi-final game with the red hot Lewis and Clark Tigers at 9pm tomorrow. Woodinville will play Glacier Peak at 2pm in the consolation bracket.
