Thank you to the large programs that help provide opportunities of playing on a wide scale. Due to the volume of girls playing, it is difficult to watch every single player. Although the goal, we watch many 2020 and 2021 teams in the Spring of 2019. Based off the performances and competition from the teams, PGH Oklahoma witnessed a few players to watch throughout the year!! Here are some players to watch from the Hoop It Up Showcase in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the Titan Sports Performance Center.
#24 Jade Long, Junior, 5’9, Guard, Tahlequah Sequoyah HS, OK Arsenal
A total guard, she is a long and lengthy player that facilitates the ball at a high rate. She pushes the ball well and performs smart finishes in transition. She looks comfortable creating from all levels of the offensive end of the floor.
#2 Kyra Misuraca, Junior, 6’2, Forward, Mustang HS, OK PWP Elite 17U
Tall and solid bodied Forward, she moves really well and has a great IQ. She is always in the right spot on both ends of the floor. Work horse, and chases every loose ball her way, she is also a Long and tall on defense, she can guard multiple type of positions. Plays well from the high post but could be more aggressive on offense but seems to be only confidence issues not lack of skill.
#34 Shay Stone, Junior, 6’2, Post, East Central HS, AR Banshees 17U UAA
Very strong player. Moves her feet to get into position and stands her ground well. She does a good job of moving the offensive post off of the block. She executes using her body on her offensive post moves and does well at not forcing her shot.
#24 Rachel Barry, Sophomore, 5’8m Guard, Hydro-Eakly HS, OK Swarm BlueStar Richie 16U
Ball-handling skills are largely what allows Rachel to be able to drive so well. She keeps her focus on the finish which allows her to use her body well to finish the ball. I love her constant awareness of the ball and she is constantly moving on offense and stays ready to receive the ball.
#5 Kate Bradley, Sophomore, 5’6, Guard, Bixby HS, PWP Elite 16U
Possess all of the right skill set, Kate has a nice fluid outside shot but I especially love her craftiness in finishing the ball with finger rolls. She does not force much and finds her opportunity on offensive due her court awareness.
