Many players play well and do good things in a game ultimately helps contribute to the team goal. On the other hand, some ball players stand out among their teammates and opponents on the floor. Not a complete inclusive list due to the fact I was not able to watch all teams, here are some Class of 2020 Standouts from the first Live Period weekend in Texas.
#21 Alexys Keys, Junior, 5’8, Point Guard, Sequoyah Tahlequah HS, OK Shock 2020-Diaz
The ball always constantly goes through Keys. Good sized point guard with a great IQ for the game, her presences alone makes a difference. Nonetheless, she is also a scorer from drives and makes the outside shot. As she plays, she does not seemed to be fatigued or phases by the defense at all.
#0 Olivia Clayton, Junior, 6’3, Center, Checotah HS, OK Swarm 17U BlueStar David
Olivia presences on the rim, made difference because of her length helping her to rebound and block shots. Ran the floor and finished really well. She also exhibited her ability to handle the ball in the open court. One of the best parts about Clayton is how she improves with each game while already having a huge impact on the court.
#6 Ashanti Day, Junior, 5’6, Point Guard, Moore HS, BlueStar Dallas RBL
Shot looks really well and fluid on the move and stationary. I love how set her feet always are when she shoots the ball. Pull up baby jumper in transition. Pushes the ball up the court to teammates while running the floor. Moves her feet to slide in front to easily grab steals…in help and in transition.
#11 Holli Lindley, Junior, 5’11, Forward, Hartshorne HS, OK Swarm 17U Elite
Posses great control of body & ball as she drives to basket. Always protects the ball with her body any time she has the ball while moving or stationary. Operates well from triple threat and understands proper footwork due to court awareness. She also has a nice three point shot that’s readily to be shoot. High efficient player that makes the correction decision with the ball in her hands
