USJN Midwest Qualifier: 2021 Evals (Part 1)

This weekend I was able to attend Day 1 of the USJN Midwest Qualifier in Lynwood, Illinois and watched some of the state's best AAU teams and players. While I was able to watch many games, I was not able to watch all teams and all players at the event. Here are some players that stood out to me in the class of 2021: Lindsey Hahn (Truth 16 Porter/Lyons Township) - The 5’8’’ Guard is a long athlete that possesses all of the skills offensively. Hahn handles the ball with confidence and speed and can knock down shots from deep. Perhaps her best quality is her court vision and eagerness to get teammates involved. Elli Kosanovich (Truth 16 Porter/Lyons Township) - Not many players benefit from Hahn’s passing abilities more than her high school teammate. The 5’7’’ Guard is a terrific spot up shooter with a consistent form from long range. Emma Raupp (Truth 16 Porter/Schaumburg) - The 5’6’’ SG is a natural knock-down shooter from three. Raupp moves well without the ball to find openings so her teammates can set her up with clean looks. Also runs the floor well in transition and is able to finish at the rim. Lexie Sinclair (Truth 16 Silver/Bartlett) - One of the most impressive players I saw this weekend, Sinclair has all the tools offensively. The 5’8’’ Guard played at the two-spot for most of the time, but also handles the ball well. Very strong with the ball in the lane and can finish with craftiness. Plus shooter. Molly Sheehan (Truth 16 Silver/Benet Academy) - Displaying one of the best crossovers in the area, defenders have a tough time staying in front of the 5’8’’ PG. Sheehan has a pass-first mentality and can slip by her opponent and make things happen for her teammates with excellent court vision. Also an above-average spot-up shooter from three. Mackenzie Senffner (Truth 16 Silver/Yorkville) - Senffner can handle the ball as well as anyone, and quicker than most. She pushes the ball in the transition game and can find teammates who are running the floor, or finish at the hoop herself. Also able to shoot it from deep. Lauren Hall (Chicago Power 16/Fenwick) - At 5’10’’, Hall is an extremely dynamic athlete. Her length allows her to guard multiple positions on the defensive side and excel at all levels on offense. She finishes well at the rim with her long arms and can hit from outside consistently.
