The Swarm established their energy early in the game and often. This would continue to be a theme for the Swarm throughout the whole tournament. The game plan was clear with activity on defense that would fuel their offense.
Mackenzie Crusoe, a key contributor to this cause, she was busy snatching steals, digging down on help defense and creating instant offense all game long. On the offensive end she produced as well knocking down multiple shots in corner. Mackenzie was not alone on offense, as the Swarm did a great job of making the extra pass and trusting their teammates showing unique team chemistry.
The Oklahoma Arsenal struggled to keep up with the pace of the Swarm as they switched to a zone defense in attempts to slow the game down. Unfortunately for them, this did not last long. Mackenzie Crusoe, Lexie Davis and Katie King continued to shoot the ball well and push the pace on both ends of the floor. Given the rare chance they didn’t make the shot, Olivia Clayton was down in the paint working hard. Snagging rebounds, creating second chance points, the long and athletic forward is extremely fun to watch for any basketball fanatic.
