Mya Meredith, Scott – Meredith is in the mix to be the best player in the class and she is likely to lead the entire state in scoring this season. As her overall game continues to develop and she becomes as much of a playmaker as she is a scorer, Mya is going to move her way up the national rankings and keep adding high major offers to her list.
Elise Ellison-Coons, Dunbar – Elise has the potential to be a high major recruit as she affects the game by doing more than just scoring. Ellison-Coons is also a great rebounder and her potential is among the highest in the class thanks to her positional size. Elise is going to be counted on to carry the team at Dunbar this year and she’s capable of having multiple triple double games as a Junior.
Kenzie Maynard, Belfry – Another player who averaged a double-double as a Sophomore and should have an even more impressive Junior season, Kenzie can boost her stock big time if she can become a more consistent shooter after only making 22% of her threes and 63% from the free throw line last year.
Delaney Gardner, Christian Academy Louisville – Gardner is in the rankings as a high upside player who should have a bigger role this year than she did as a Sophomore. Playing for a loaded CAL team last year, Gardner didn’t get a ton of playing time but after a good summer, she should have a bigger impact this season.
Leslie Baxter, Butler – Baxter added her first offer from Alabama A&M over the summer and she should add more to her list over the next two years. Leslie should have a bigger role as a Junior after modest statistics as a Sophomore. But at Butler, they almost always have loaded classes and Baxter has waited her time to shine for the Bearettes.
Other Names to Know:
Amber Dunn, Apollo – Dunn is a good rebounder for her position and has potential for a big season if her shooting statistics improve as a Junior.
Alyssa Stickler, East Carter – After averaging just under 15 points per game as a Sophomore, Stickler can lead the Lady Raiders to a district title this season.
