I arrived Saturday morning to the location and was greeted by Coach Porter and his staff, I assisted them in setting up the venue and getting the camp ready for the girls to come in and register. At about 9 am, girls started to show and come in the gym, they checked them in and then sent them to get a jersey to wear for the event. After they got the jerseys issued, they were sent to me to take their camp portfolio shot for the website and for the social media we will be sending out during and after the showcase camp. Everything went well and the camp commenced with a short introduction of the coaches and myself, which also made a little statement to the girls about recruiting in today’s game, social media is changing the whole recruiting dynamic fast and in a hurry. Here are all of the girls who attended the camp and their prospective schools they attend and vitals, hope you like this. I really appreciate Demetrius Porter for his hospitality at this event, those TACOS were on point……
Here are the participants who we watched this weekend, some talent in the house for the Shenom Showcase.
2020, 5’10, SG, Clovis HS, Avery Evans – All around (DIA) do it all guard on the floor, could score the ball from all three levels, could defend, could make the right play while on the floor, but one thing stood out, she was lights out from three. This girl can play and she was one of the most solid the whole camp. Very impressed with this prospect, coaches need to call her, major upside. Tough as nails on the floor with a great motor.
2021, 5’11, W/F, Central HS, Inani Madden – Athletic forward/post type with a lot of ability, ran the floor very well like a gazelle. She is figuring out how to capitalize things on the floor, her footwork is solid and she could finish at the rim, developing midrange game.
2021, 6’0, SF, Clovis West HS, Amaya Snowden – is shifty post with a college-ready body that is very athletic and mobile under the rim. Saw her even get the rebound and push the break and make the right play to her teammate for a nice bucket. Some major upside for this girl.
2021, 5’8, PG, San Joaquin Memorial HS, Samaria Velazquez – Samaria can play, she was very impressive to me, quick solid point guard with the total package with her skillset. Her handle was impeccable and it led right into her midrange pull up game, which we think is an underutilized skill. She defends like a champion and was not afraid to mix it up with the bigger players, all I can say is tough as nails. Mid Major for sure in my book, coaches better take a really good look at this one.
2021, 6’1, F, Ridgeview HS, Jordan Francisco – Jordan is a monster in the paint, she can rebound with the best of them, she can start the break, she can finish thru contact at the rim as well. Her agility was impressive, she took her defender off the dribble at will, but her best attribute to the game we saw was her ability to rebound and find her teammates, high IQ kid here, coaches take a good look at this one. Major upside.
2021, 6’0, WF,San Joaquin Memorial HS, Macie James – Macie is that DIA forward type that is really dominant on the floor, she has a college ready body type now, very skilled, handles it, shoots it and can run the break as well as rebound with the best of them. Very high IQ and is team leader on the floor, so vocal. This kid is super athletic and runs the floor like a gazelle. Major upside for this one, watch the articles on her.
