- Quierra Love is a 5’5 2020 point guard from Edwardsville. Que has given a verbal commitment to SIU. She is one of the fastest players with the ball in her hand that you will find. Que uses her quickness to be an excellent on ball defender. This added weapon allows Edwardsville to get many easy buckets off turnovers. Que has worked very hard on her shot to become more of a threat from behind the arc. Que made 46% of her 3’s and 74% from the free throw line last year. She has become more than just a small fast girl, Que is a player.
- Kayla Gordon is a 5’4 2020 point guard from O’Fallon. Kayla is an excellent scorer from her point guard position. She can finish in a variety of ways over the bigs in the lane. Kayla is an excellent free throw shooter so she often racks up points in the last minute or two of close games. If Kayla develops her 3 point shot she will be about impossible to stop. She has been getting attention from smaller colleges at the D3,NAIA and JC levels.
- Mady Wallace is a 5’4 2020 point guard from Benton. Mady is a creative left handed scorer. She can hit the 3 but really has her success getting to the hole off the dribble. Mady is a capable and willing passer that will set up her teammates when the opportunity exists.
- Anna Blank is a 5’11 2022 point guard from Richland County. Anna is excellent with the ball in her hands. She is very even tempered so you can see her keep her cool in tough spots. She is strong and can handle pressure. Anna is capable of getting into the lane and scoring or dishing on every possession. She finishes well with both hands. Anna is ranked #3 in our 2022 rankings.
- Kourtland Tyus is a 5’7 2020 point guard from Civic Memorial. Kourtland is a true leader and point guard. She has been a starter her whole career on some excellent teams. Kourtland has improved her shot throughout her career and is a definite scoring threat as she enters her senior year. She has given a verbal commitment to Johnson County CC in Kansas.
- Adrenna Snipes is a 5’6 2022 point guard from Alton Marquette. Adrenna is explosive and handles the ball very well. She was named Alton Telegraph small school player of the year as a freshman. Adrenna can get in the lane consistently where she draws contact very well. To continue to improve she would benefit from a mid range game to avoid some of that contact. Adrenna also changes the game on the defensive end. She has quick hands and an eye for the passing lanes.
- Ellie Brown is a 5’5 2020 point guard from Highland. Ellie is a veteran starter for Highlqnd that brings good scoring ability to the point guard spot. She does a good job of getting to the basket and finishing in the lane. Ellie has a good outside shot and deep range. This will be her first year as the true point guard after the graduation of Emmy Nyquist.
- Abbey Crain is a 5’6 2020 point guard from Carterville. Abbey is very fast with ball and is great in transition. She pushes the ball consistently to find easy opportunities. Abbey scores 12 points per game and can hit the 3. She is a very good defender. Abbey can pressure the ball and create problems for opposing point guards.
There is talent galore in the point guard group in Southern Illinois. All of these girls play for very good teams. These will be players to watch come tourney time.
