University High School’s Tyler and Jacksen McCliment-Call announced their commitment to the University of Portland earlier this week. Both players reside in the Greater Spokane League (GSL) and one more has been added to the growing number of Division 1 commits out of the league. (6 to date)
2020 5’9 G Peyton Howard has committed to Seattle University of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Peyton attends Central Valley High School, regularly one of the top teams in the GSL over the course of the last handful of years. Peyton is a solid athlete and skilled player all around. Very much the type of player that colleges are accustomed to finding with Spokane area players. She has great length at the guard position and will add some good size at the position for Seattle U. Peyton joins Cedar Park Christian’s Irena Korolenko as a 2020 in-state commit for the Redhawks.
In Western Washington, 2020 6’0 F Ella Brubaker of Curtis High School announced her commitment to The Master’s University today. The Master’s is a very competitive NAIA Division 1 program in California and qualified for the NAIA National Tournament last season, reaching the Sweet 16. The Mustangs roster five girls from the state of Washington including former five star recruit, Stephanie Soares (2018, Mount Baker HS). Stephanie had her choice of colleges but chose to attend school with her 6’3 older sister, Jessica. Stephanie was a first team NAIA All-American as a freshman. Ella will have lots of talent to play with and share the same home state as many players on the roster. She is a blooming wing-forward type of player with the ability to hit the mid range jumper. Her improvement year by year has been impressive and her spring/summer with the Columbia Cascades ultimately won over some college coaches.
