There were several good guards showcased during the event. Here are the top performers at the position.
Mosley runs the point for her team.Patsy Mosley | 5’8 | G | 2021 | Maynard Jackson | #20
Mosely is a very athletic point guard. She plays with good speed and knows when to push in transition to get easy fastbreak opportunities and when to slow things up to execute offensive sets. She has good ball-handling with several dribble moves to create her own shot. She shoots it well from beyond the arc and is a good passer.
Shannon Niles | 5’4 | PG | 2022 | Brookwood
A lighting quick smaller guard that can get to the rim. She has great ball-handling and using the dribble to get by defenders with good counter move decisions. Has a shooting stroke for both the mid-range and three-point shot. She is a pesky defender who uses her quickness to stay in front of defenders. She will continue to develop her layup package which is already pretty crafty.
Nia Bozeman | 5’4 | G | 2022 | Campbell
Bozeman is another small speedy guard in the class of 2022. My second time seeing her play and she was as efficient as I remembered. She shot 5 for 7 from the floor with most of her attempts at the rim or nice pullups in transition. She has advanced ball-handling which helps her find open looks. She is a challenge to guard in transition due to the combination of speed and handles.
Colvin in a game against Campbell.Dayuna Colvin | 5’8 | G | 2022 | North Cobb
A strong guard with a big frame that uses her size to her advantage. She is an aggressive driver that wills herself to the rim at times to make tough layups or get to the foul line. She showed a good looking three-point shot but only attempted one. She was active on the glass mixing it up on the defensive end to come up with 11 rebounds in the game. She is defensively sound who keeps players she is guarding against from getting easy looks and will come up with a couple of steals.
Sophmore guard Sarah TaubSarah Taub | 5’7 | G | 2022 | Campbell
Taub is a shooter who does a good job of spacing herself offensively to get several open catches and shoot threes. She also has enough quickness to get to the rim when necessary. She has decent handles that will only get better as she continues to work on her game. She has a good size at the guard position.
