Windsor (2-3) vs Pueblo West (8-0)
Windsor’s Kylie Sanger (2021 G) will definitely need to bring her high-energy playing style on Friday. She is averaging 13 points a game while being one miss away from a perfect free-throw percentage. Expect for Pueblo West to look to Hannah Simental (2020 G) to add to her 106 total points in this game. She is averaging 17.7 points a game while shooting 85% at the free-throw line.
Denver South (6-2) vs Douglas County (4-2)
This matchup should be a very exciting one. Denver South’s Timiya Guevara (2021 G) has racked up 198 total points, 53 rebounds, and 51 steals which brings her average to 24.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 6.4 points a game. In addition to Timiya, expect a heavy impact from teammates Carly Dilworth (2020 G), another dominant scorer who has tallied up 132 points, and Taysha Williams (2023 G), coming off of her first recorded double-double and averaging 10.4 points and 7.4 steals.
Douglas County’s Taylor Griffin (2020 G), Carly Dickson (2022 F), and Aidyn Woodall (2022 G) will have their work cut out for them. Griffin is averaging 11.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, while Dickson sits at 6.8 rebounds a game. Woodall’s 4.6 rebounds per game and 26 total deflections will be in high demand on Friday.
Eaglecrest (7-1) vs Fountain-Fort Carson (6-0)
Fountain-Fort Carson will be looking to Torie Bass (2021 G) and Raekyiah Williams (2021 G) to defend their undefeated record on Friday. Bass is averaging 14.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.7 steals per game, while Williams is sitting at 8.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.2 steals a game. Tauja Durham (2020 F) has recorded 32 rebounds and 9 steals this season, no doubt that she will be looking to increase those numbers.
Jaden Ross (2020 G) and Dalys McGuinnis (2021 G) will be leading the charge against the Trojans. Ross has 106 points and 22 steals on the season, bring her average to 13.3 points and 2.8 steals a game. McGuinnis has is averaging 9.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. Freshman standout Laci Roffle (2023 F) has recorded 12.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.4 steals per game. Expect a true battle with this matchup.
Ponderosa (8-0) vs Vista PEAK Prep (7-0)
This game should be a true battle. Ponderosa’s Liberty Line (2021 G) has 147 points on the season, putting her at 18.4 points a game. In addition to her points average, she has 7.9 rebounds, 3.6 steals, and 3.1 assists per game. Katherine Higgins (2020 C) is an equally dominant force on the court. Tallying up a total of 137 points and 68 rebounds, she is averaging 17.1 points and 8.5 boards a game. These two make for a mean one-two punch.
Vista has weapons of their own. Seairra Huges (2020 F/G) has put up 124 points, 93 rebounds, and 19 steals so far this season. That brings her averages to 17.7 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 2.7 steals per game. Huges has recorded a double-double in every game this season. Teammate Mikenzie Jones (2022 C/F), who is snagging 7 rebounds and putting up 11 points a game, is another strong addition while Kaya Evans (2020 G) has proven to be a dominant scorer, averaging 13.1 points a game. Once again, this will be a true battle.
Fruita Monument (9-1) vs Littleton (5-1)
Fruita Monument, who has totaled over 50 points in six games, will follow up Thursday’s match with a game against Littleton’s Susie Puchino (2020 G) and Brooke Wolanin (2020 F). Puchino is averaging 10.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.8 steals a game. Wolanin has 20 deflections on the season and has an average of 7.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. This should make for a very competitive contest.
Eaton (6-1) vs Pagosa Springs (3-2)
This Wolf Creek Classic Tournament game will feature players with strong talent from both teams. Eaton’s Addie Randel (2020 G) is averaging 10.3 points, 6 rebounds, 4.7 steals, and 4 assists a game. Jennifer Jarnagin (2021 G) is another tough defender who can score, averaging 4.3 rebounds, 3.1 steals, and 7.4 points per game.
Pagosa Springs’ Taylor Lewis (2020), Hailey Griego (2020 F), and Teagan Stretton (2020 G) will have strong competition. The three of them were able to combine for 90 points, 36 rebounds, and 19 steals of just three games.
