Continue ReadingDuring the month of January, several excellent players from the Show-Me State reached special career milestones. Prep Girls Hoops Missouri has been keeping track of those career achievements. Here is the first installment of Missouri Milestones:
Paige Allen (Oak Park): The 2020 guard reached a special milestone on January 20 when she scored her 2,000th career point against Park Hill South. The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi commit followed up with a 35-point, 18-rebound performance against Lincoln Prep. Allen is currently averaging 28 points a game to lead the Kansas City area in scoring.
Haley Wiskur (Smith-Cotton): The 2020 guard reached the 1,000-point plateau in a game against Kansas City Center in the McDonald’s Smith-Cotton Classic. She scored 36 points in that game to reach the milestone. She became the third player in the history of the school to reach 1,000 points.
Jasmine Manuel (Rockwood Summit): The 6’3″ 2020 forward reached two milestones this season. She recently scored her 1,000th career point this month. Manuel has also reached the 1,000-rebound plateau, which gives her a very nice career double.
Sophia Horton (Park Hills Central): The excellent 2021 guard reached the 1,000-point plateau on January 6 in a victory over South Iron. The 5’7″ Horton has already given a verbal commitment to Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO.
Liz Behan (Fort Zumwalt East): The 2020 forward recently scored her 1,000th career point and followed up later in the week by becoming the school’s all-time leading scorer. The 6’2″ Behan is currently averaging 19 points and 14 rebounds a game for the 11-4 Lions.
Paige Tate (Spokane): The 2020 forward recently grabbed her 1,000th career rebound in a game against Clever in mid-January. The 6’0″ Tate has already committed to Lyon College.
Jada Lindesmith (Lutheran-St. Charles): The 2020 guard recently scored her 1,000th career point in a victory at Bowling Green. The 5’7″ Lindesmith is averaging a team-high 10.7 points a game for the 13-4 Cougars.
Kate Minkler (Ladue): The 2020 guard recently scored her 1,000th career point. The 5’6″ Minkler is averaging 11 points a game for the 13-2 Rams.
Mykel Mathews (Hazelwood West): The 2020 guard scored her 1,000th career point in a victory over Alton. She had 22 points and 13 rebounds in the Wildcats victory. The 5’6″ Mathews is currently averaging 23 points a game.
