Ellie Vazzana 5’11” Incarnate Word: The Most Valuable Player of the tournament, the slashing wing player is the Red Knights’ go-to player. She scored 19 points in the championship game, including the game winner in the closing seconds in a victory over Edwardsville. She is a versatile athlete who is capable of guarding multiple positions on the floor. She can also shoot from the perimeter to compliment her Drive game.
Aliyah Williams 5’4″ Parkway North: One of the quickest and most productive guards in the entire tournament, she averaged more than 20 points in four games. She was a most difficult cover because of her quickness and ability to get to the basket, coupled with her ability to make 3-pointers. She had a very nice hesitation move to beat defenders off the dribble.
Kelsey Blakemore 5’9″ Whitfield: A physical point guard who uses her size to her advantage against smaller guards. She can play bully ball on her way to the basket or she can stop and pop from the mid range area. She also makes solid decisions with the basketball.
J’lessa Jordan 5’11” Hazelwood Central: An athletic young forward who made her biggest impact as a rebounder and shot blocker. She had multiple swats in more than one game, thanks to her leaping ability and good timing. She is a quick jumper who is usually the second player off the floor to contest shots.
Nariyah Simmons 5’2″ Hazelwood Central: A speedy little point who really excels in a fast tempo game. Her quickness is a big asset at both ends of the floor as she is a ball hawk on defense. she had six steals in a game against Kirkwood. She is good in the open court and she can score on penetrating drives.
Mackenzie Duff 6’0″ Nerinx Hall: An all-around athlete who excels in multiple sports, Duff averaged 20 points a game in the tournament. When the southpaw was able to get to her strong hand, she was tough to stop on the drive and she could finish well around the basket. She also did a good job rebounding out of her area.
