This has understandably caused some outrage from the community as fans and writers are now forced to choose 1 game out of 6 to attend. So I thought I could go over each game and give reasons as to why that game is worth going to!
6A
Valley Vista vs Perry
Valley Vista vs Perry should be a very entertaining game. I predict very high intensity and a very close game. Both teams have very talented players on their team. Perry has the dynamic duo of Madison Conner and Tatyanna Clayburne. While, Valley Vista has their own duo of Marisa Davis-Jones and Jennah Isai. All four of those players have multiple D1 offers so you’re getting some high caliber players for your entrance fee.
Pinnacle vs Hamilton
This is a really good matchup as well. Similar to the game previous, I think this game will be very close and high intensity. This is another game filled with high caliber players. Pinnacle’s Ally Stedman and Kennedy Basham both hold multiple D1 offers. While Hamilton has Victoria Davis, Amyah Reaves, and Samara Curry. All three have offers from Hampton, Victoria Davis is actually signed there. Another game worth every penny of your entrance fee.
5A
Cactus Shadows vs Sunrise Mountain
Cactus Shadows vs Sunrise Mountain should be a very competitive game. I believe these teams met earlier in the season during a holiday tournament. While these schools don’t have the same caliber of players from the other games, it is still a very solid option for your night! I expect a very close game and both of these teams are extremely well coached so expect some good basketball. I’d recommend that if you haven’t seen Brooke Rodgers from Cactus Shadows or Julie Diveney from Sunrise Mountain play, you should definitely get on that! Those girls can play!
Millennium vs Gilbert
This game is a rematch of the state championship game last year. Millennium has a crazy amount of college level players on their team. Ali Zelaya is committed to North Carolina. Jasmine Singleton is committed to UNLV. Trayanna Crisp has already received some D1 offers. Gilbert may not have the college caliber of players like Millennium may have but Gilbert has been one of the most intriguing teams this season. After losing their best two players and coach from last year, people expected them to rebuild a little bit. However, here they are once again in the final 4. Big congrats to their team!
4A
Shadow Mountain vs Sahuaro
This should be a very good game, as both teams have some very talented players on their respective squads. Shadow Mountain has Dyamond Butler-Worley, Senya Rabouin, Sissy Paloma, and Zhane Jordan. DBW may be the only player on the team with D1 offers but trust me, these four girls are a machine together. Sahuaro has their own dynamic duo of Alyssa Brown and Alyssa Franke. Brown is a very highly recruited player and is the leading scorer in state two years in a row (PPG). These two heavyweights should produce a very high scoring matchup!
Seton Catholic vs Flagstaff
If I am going to be honest, I think this is the game you may want to pass on. No disrespect to Flagstaff but I don’t think they have what it takes to hang with Seton. They’ve been absolutely dominating and winning by huge margins! If you have to pick one game, I’d skip this one and just wait to see Seton Catholic play in the Championship. Their team is incredibly deep with Isabella DiGiovanni, Amanda Barcello, Lexi McNabb, Lee Lee Willis, Annemarie Trojanovich, and Jamie Gillian.
