Game #4 of the Day
Bishop Amat dominated the first half of the game with great shooting, excellent defense and the guards had great ball control to keep them on top. San Clemente in the beginning, really did not have a chance due to the flow of the game favoring Bishop Amat, we could not believe that Bishop Amat was the aggressor thru two quarters of basketball. San Clemente would wake up in the third quarter by implementing a 2-3 zone and it proved to be the solution to their problems. This game was different during the third and fourth quarters, both teams made adjustments and kept each other off balance. Final score of the game, Bishop Amat 48, San Clemente 43.
Top Performers for Bishop Amat:
2020, 5’5, SG, Morgan Rust – All around player, kept his team engaged all game, she could handle it, she could shoot it all three levels and her game impressed us. Aggressive defensively at all times, used her skill set to get the offense needed to for her team to win the game. She should have some coaches on her at this point, this kid showed she is a player and one for the next level. She ended the game with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 assists. Also was MVP of the game.
2020, 5’7, PG, Mia Ross – The teams true leader and solid point guard on the floor, she is fluid in many aspects on the floor, she shoots from 24 feet out with her threes from the right or left corner. She handles and pushes the ball and makes the clear pass to get them transition buckets. She is defensively minded and one of the better defensive player on the floor tonite in this game. Just like her whole demeanor on the floor, you could not tell she was either bothered or not, she was a warrior and got the win for her squad. She ended the game with 10 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals.
2020, 5’5, CG, Lilia Ramirez – Did it all for her team as well, she made the right plays at the right time, she kept her man in front and did not give up any buckets. She shot the ball well and also got to the rim and finished thru contact and went to the line and made free throws, she was (4-4) from the line. She ended the game with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals.
Top Performers for San Clemente:
2020, 6’1, PF, Ella Gardiner – Ella is a monster, she attacks and attacks and attacks all the time, but Bishop Amat made it really hard for her to score her average tonite. She is a rebounding machine and she found a way to score for her team and never gave up on the floor. Ella uses her size well and is skilled in the paint, she can score over her right and left shoulder with ease, but needs to work on knowing when to throw out of the double. She ended the game with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks.
2021, 5’11, SF, Jessie Blaine – Jesse rebounded the ball like no one I have seen in the girls game, she has great size and uses it well in the game. With her body type she can guard position 1 -5 and it makes her a very valuable player in our opinion. She missed alot of shots today, but the way she takes those shots, I believe she is a key piece to this team and just had a bad night. She ended the game with 6 points and 16 rebounds.
