PGH Illinois 3A All-State Team
If you took a look at Don Halling’s Class 1A and Class 2A All-State Team articles, you already have an idea of what our goal is with these articles. While I didn’t follow Don’s format exactly, I wanted to keep things relatively consistent. All of these players were named to at least one AP or IBCA Team, but the level varies. There are players here who are no-brainers and players who I feel deserved a little more recognition for their seasons. We didn’t get too deep with 2nd teams, 3rd teams, HM’s, but instead just one 15-player team, which means talented players who had good seasons were bound to be left off the list. So with all of that being said, here is your Prep Girls Hoops Illinois 3A All-State Team:
2020 Kylie Feuerbach Kylie Feuerbach 6'0" | PF Sycamore | 2020 State IL , 6’0” Guard, Sycamore
The Iowa State commit eclipsed the 2,000 point mark a little over halfway through her Senior season, leading Sycamore deep into the playoffs before ultimately falling to Montini in a close contest. Feuerbach was named 1st Team All-State by both the AP and IBCA.
2022 Brianna McDaniel Brianna McDaniel 5'10" | CG Kenwood | 2022 State #13 Nation IL , 5’11” Guard, Kenwood
The dominant scoring Guard helped lead Kenwood to their best season in program history (27 wins, Sectional Finalist). McDaniel was named 1st Team All-State by the IBCA and 2nd Team All-State by the AP.
2021 Aneesah Morrow Aneesah Morrow 6'1" | SG Simeon | 2021 State #46 Nation IL , 6’1” Guard, Simeon
Morrow was a force her Sophomore year but took her game to new heights as a Junior. The strong Wing can score at all levels and has the ball handling and inside scoring to make her one of the most dynamic players in the state. She was named 1st Team All-State by both the AP and IBCA.
2020 Ambranette Storr Ambranette Storr 5'8" | CG Kankakee | 2020 State IL , 5’8” Guard, Kankakee
One of the best scorers in state history, Storr capped off her remarkable career with a 31.8ppg scoring average, totaling 1,081 points. The Drake commit ended her career with 2,913 total points. Storr was named 1st Team All-State by both the AP and IBCA.
2021 Makiyah Williams Makiyah Williams 5'11" | SG Trinity | 2021 State IL , 6’0” Guard, Trinity
Williams is another top player in the area who joined the 1,000-point club early on in her Junior season. The lengthy left-hander has continued to dominate on both ends of the floor with her athleticism, body control, and ability to score at every level. Williams was named 1st Team All-State by the IBCA.
2020 Lindsey Dullard Lindsey Dullard 6'1" | PF Morton | 2020 State IL , 6’1” Guard, Morton
Dullard is one of the more well-rounded players in the state, and she showed why at the State Tournament last weekend. The UAB commit is a talented scorer and simply knows how to win. Dullard was named 1st Team All-State by both the AP and IBCA.
2020 Kate Bullman Kate Bullman 6'1" | PF Grayslake Central | 2020 State IL , 6’2” Forward, Grayslake Central
The Illinois State commit led Grayslake Central to a program record-tying 30-win season and Supersectional appearance with an impressive 19ppg and 10rpg average. Bullman was named 1st Team All-State by the IBCA and 2nd Team All-State by the AP.
2020 Martrice Brooks, 5’7” Guard, Springfield Lanphier
Brooks is a downstate talent that many northerners weren’t aware of until last weekends’ State Tournament. The Lanphier Combo Guard is explosive off the dribble and has the strength to finish in traffic, as well as knock down threes at a consistent rate. Brooks was named 1st Team All-State by the IBCA and Honorable Mention by the AP.
2020 Trinity Duckworth Trinity Duckworth 6'0" | CG Hillcrest | 2020 State IL , 5’5” Guard, Hillcrest
Duckworth is one of the best all-around Point Guards in the state, eclipsing the 2,000-point scoring mark for her career this season. The IUPUI commit is quicker than most with the ball in her hands and can score well at every level. Duckworth was named 2nd Team All-State by both the AP and IBCA.
2021 Elana Wells Elana Wells 5'6" | PG Burlington Central | 2021 State IL , 5’6” Guard, Burlington Central
Wells, in my opinion, is one of the more underrated Combo Guards in the area with her ability to lead an offense and score off-ball. She led her team (29-5) in points (17ppg), assists, steals, and a number of other statistical categories. Wells was named 2nd Team All-State by the IBCA.
2022 Joy Bergstrom Joy Bergstrom 5'9" | CG Saint Viator | 2022 State IL , 5’9” Guard, St. Viator
Bergstrom is another player who may not have a ton of state-wide attention thus far, but her name will be very well known soon. The Combo Guard is a pure scorer at all levels and is one of the few Sophomores to surpass 1,000 career points this season. Bergstrom was named 3rd Team All-State by the IBCA.
2021 Brenna Loftus Brenna Loftus 5'8" | CG Riverside-Brookfield | 2021 State IL , 5’8” Guard, Riverside-Brookfield
The high scoring Junior from RB continued her great high school career averaging over 30 points per game this season and eclipsing the 2,000-point mark for her career. Loftus was named Honorable Mention All-State by both the AP and IBCA.
2022 Whitney Dunn Whitney Dunn 5'8" | CG Kenwood | 2022 State IL , 5’9” Guard, Kenwood
Dunn showed promise as a Freshman, but an increased role at Kenwood during her Sophomore season showed how incredibly talented she is. She’s a consistent knock-down shooter from deep and has the length and athleticism to defend multiple positions and succeed in the transition game. Dunn was named 2nd Team All-State by the IBCA and Honorable Mention by the AP.
2022 Katie Krupa Katie Krupa 6'2" | SF Morton | 2022 State IL , 6’1” Forward, Morton
The highly-talented Forward from Morton had another stellar season for the Lady Potters. She’s a phenomenal post presence on both ends with her length and strength, and has a great feel in the post with excellent touch. Krupa was named 2nd Team All-State by the IBCA and Honorable Mention by the AP.
2020 Peyton Kennedy Peyton Kennedy 6'0" | C Boylan Catholic | 2020 State IL , 6’0” Forward, Rockford (Boylan)
The Saint Louis commit had another terrific season for Boylan, during which she eclipsed the 2,000 point and 1,000 rebound marks for her career. Kennedy was named 1st Team All-State by the AP and 2nd Team by the IBCA.
