Let me start this off with the Top 2021 Prospects at the #Elite80
Jada Malone Jada Malone 6'3" | PF The Village School | 2021 State #30 Nation TX -The Village-if you didn’t know that being one of the top players in the country equates to being a D1 player, it’s sad that you have a base but Malone’s bases are loaded at 6’4 because she can punish on the inside and scored with tremendous power only to mix it up with finesse and hit the mid to long-range jumpers
Eriny Kindred Eriny Kindred 6'0" | SF Del Valle | 2021 State TX -Dell Valle- she will be JEFFERSONIZED on my rankings, Movin On Up because her high rise performance that left me speechless. To say she’s a #BCSLock is an understatement and it was when I said it two years ago but her athleticism and mix of offensive skills made her hard to handle
Tori Garza Tori Garza 5'8" | SG New Caney | 2021 State TX -New Caney- she tickled me when she told me “the first time you saw me, the team was tearing us up” and I responded “yeah, but you were tearing them up, singlehandedly” and that falls into the “it’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against” but her range and ability to score off the dribble was second to none
Alyssa Bonilla Alyssa Bonilla 5'5" | PG El Paso Canutillo | 2021 State TX -Canutillo-all of my life, basketball life, I’ve rooted for the underdog and she is a prime example of #sizedontmatter when you can PLAY and she just amazes with her FIRE and DESIRE because she ain’t scared of nothing. She attacks relentlessly, sees the floor and cam has range, watch out for the step back and crossover
Malena Delascurain-Westlake- don’t remember seeing her before but Texas is a big state and talent is everywhere so what’s the base, long and athletic and she uses her length and timing to alter and deflect but she also attacks from the wing and has range, plus she enjoys defending baseline to baseline
Abby Bala
Abby Bala-Cinco Ranch-waited and waited for a roster but never got it so I’m glad she was at this event. The stop and pop was impressive, I love players who can create off the dribble and hit the midrange but that pull-up jumper going full speed is very nice. Oh yeah, she can shoot the long-range as well
Kaley Perkins Kaley Perkins 6'0" | SG Langham Creek | 2021 State TX -Langham Creek- another DISTRICT MVP and the acronym also means multi-variety of points because she is a scorer that can also shoot, I’m a real evaluator so DM if you don’t what that means but I’ve watched her shoot that ball since she was 10, smooth and consistent and standing the magic number, 6’0
Ariana Rosado-Stony Point-heady guard that just gets “it” and brings “it” right at you. Handles the ball in traffic, sees the floor and sets teamamtes up for baskets but she also can attack the rim and finish or shot the mid to long-range but on top of that, she loves to defend
Aiken Semones-The Village- I’m becoming sentimental as she also was around 10 when I saw her dropping threes and I had to get her name. Her game has flourished over the years, she’s a hard worker that strives on getting better and her attacking and ballhandling, as well as her defense, are all up, up and away
Alexys Babineaux-Westfield-made my Tip Sheet at 11 and I said if she grows, watch out and she has and you better, One of the most powerful inside players in the area, she battles like there’s no tomorrow and I mean for rebounds and loose balls but she can score and finish strong with contact
Raven Adams Raven Adams 5'7" | PG Ridgepoint | 2021 State TX -Ridgepoint-after helping lead her team to its first-ever regional semi-final and being named district MVP, she came out with a vengeance throwing no looks that almost hit me yet my reflexes are still perfect enough to capture what she does and how she understands her job is to make teammates better
Adoara Nwokeji-Summer Creek-impressed me the first time I saw her and I actually went and found out what her name was. It was given to me misspelled but her game is spelled correctly as she’s a terror on both ends, scoring off the dribble or outside and defending baseline to baseline with a vengeance
Robin Whitehead-Atascocita- loosened things up by asking her if her hair was black, why Whitehead and she cracked up but got it, but she also had it and brought it on the court. Her athleticism and energy is contagious, she attacks the basket and has a nice pull-up and makes good decisions
Eliya Ellis-Clear Creek- another “you won’t outwork me” player that just loves the contact, giving and receiving and has always been strong in the paint, rebounding very well on both ends of the court. Her perimeter defense has improved and she finishes nicely after adding extra moves on the inside
