This list of standouts is based on players that performed the best in games that I personally scouted and not necessarily the best “college prospects.”
Day 1 Standouts:
4A-
2021 6’2 C Faith Bergstrom Faith Bergstrom 6'3" | C Camas | 2021 State WA (Camas HS) – Possesses more length than is noticeable on film. Bergstrom has above average mobility for her size and she holds her positioning in the post well. Her basketball IQ allows her to make solid reads in the post and she is a good passer out of double teams. The 6’2 post finished with 16 points and 8 rebounds, despite getting very few touches down the stretch.
2020 5’9 CG Aaliyah Alexander Aaliyah Alexander 5'9" | SG Todd Beamer | 2020 State WA (Todd Beamer HS) – An electric player on the court that got it done on both sides of the ball. She is a good player driving down hill, but she showed some basketball IQ and did make some nice passes as well. The Eastern Washington signee finished with 19 points and 9 rebounds in the win.
2020 6’0 F Julia Bordeaux Julia Bordeaux 5'11" | SG Bellarmine Prep | 2020 State WA (Bellarmine Prep) – This senior made the most of her final high school game. Bordeaux was aggressive and showed off a solid skill set. She has a soft touch on her shot and has pretty good size for the forward position as a small college prospect. She finished with 16 points and 8 rebounds in the losing effort for Bellarmine Prep.
2021 5’8 SG Martina Lam (Kentridge HS) – Kentridge did not play with much energy at all in their blowout loss to Issaquah, but Lam showed flashes of aggression and willingness to compete. She led her team in scoring and rebounds at 14 points and 9 boards. Lam finished with 6 turnovers, but a part of that was her attempts to be aggressive and make plays in another wise stagnant offense.
2021 5’11 PF Alivia Stephens Alivia Stephens 5'11" | PF Issaquah | 2021 State WA (Issaquah HS) – A forward that can lead the break, passes up the floor and can operate out of the short corner or high post. Stephen led her team in scoring at 14 points, but she also played solid defense inside and out.
2020 5’5 CG Raigan Barrett Raigan Barrett 5'4" | PG Rogers | 2020 State WA (Rogers HS) – Barrett was in full attack mode for her final high school basketball game. The UW softball commit finished with a game high 26 points and was the only Rogers player to score more than 5 points. She had a game high 7 turnovers, but she was being ultra aggressive to try to keep her team in the game versus a tough Issaquah squad.
2020 5’7 PG Madisyn Clark Madisyn Clark 5'6" | PG Moses Lake | 2020 State WA (Moses Lake HS) – A standout performer almost every time I have seen her for the last two years. Clark has a great basketball IQ and she distributes, as displayed by her 5 assists. She can also shoot it, as displayed in her 3 made three pointers and team-high 16 points. And lastly, Clark is a winner and she helped Moses Lake advance to the quarterfinals.
