Rankings 40 girls this early in the process was hard and some ladies narrowly missed the cut to be in the top 40 and would almost definitely be in the next rankings expansion. Here’s a look at some of the Kentucky ballers who barely missed the cut for this ranking.
Hadley Turner, Franklin-Simpson – Turner was off to a good start to her season, averaging 8.2 PPG and shooting 51% from the floor before a season ending injury ended her Freshman season after 12 games. Look for Hadley to get back into form and have a good remainder of her career.
Chandler Duncan, PRP – Chandler is likely to be the go-to scorer for the Lady Panthers starting next season. With Dayja Evans Dayja Evans 5'8" | SG Pleasure Ridge Park | 2020 State KY and Mariah Jones Mariah Jones 5'7" | SF Pleasure Ridge Park | 2020 State KY gone to the next level, Duncan is going to have to be ready to step into a much larger role in her Sophomore season.
Adylan Ayer, Daviess County – Ayer was honestly just a miss in our rankings and should have a home in the Top 40 already. She led the Panthers in scoring and was second on the team in rebounding. An all around player, Adylan is able to score from the perimeter and at the rim.
Amari Lovan, Madisonville – Another western Kentucky prospect, Lovan had a solid Freshman campaign for Madisonville this season, averaging 4 points and 4 rebounds per outing. She has a chance to keep developing alongside rising Junior Camryn LaGrange Camryn LaGrange 5'8" | PG Madisonville-North Hopkins | 2022 State KY .
Abby Maggard, Knott County Central – After a transfer from Floyd Central to start her high school season, Maggard was a very capable third scorer for the Patriots and is in good shape to be one of the top players in the mountains over the course of her career.
Taylor Guess, Crittendon County – A big miss in our rankings, Guess got overlooked when we put together the rankings. She averaged 18 points and 7 rebounds for the Lady Rockets this season and is in the mix for best 2023 in western Kentucky. A massive miss by our staff that we will fix in the next update.
