At the top of the list you have Kaliyah Sain Kaliyah Sain 5'10" | SF Cedar Rapids Kennedy | 2023 State IA . Sain only played in two games this high school season before her injury but the impact that she showed last summer, last fall, and early in the season was impressive. She holds the top spot among the point guards for now and if she comes back stronger from her injury I can see her move up on the overall rankings. Rounding out the top five point guards are Arianna Jackson Arianna Jackson 5'9" | PG Roosevelt | 2023 State IA , Molly Joyce Molly Joyce 5'7" | PG Bishop Garrigan | 2023 State IA , Molly Noelck Molly Noelck 5'9" | PG Johnston | 2023 State IA , and Halli Poock Halli Poock 5'6" | PG Waterloo West | 2023 State IA . All four play very different styles and are very productive in their own ways.
You also have guards like Jenna Pitz Jenna Pitz 5'7" | PG Ankeny | 2023 State IA , Jena Young Jena Young 5'6" | PG Winterset | 2023 State IA , and Bryar Duwe Bryar Duwe 5'7" | PG Decorah | 2023 State IA who can score as well as anyone in the state and Jasmine Barney Jasmine Barney 5'7" | PG Cedar Falls | 2023 State IA and Lauryn Peck Lauryn Peck 5'6" | PG Bishop Heelan | 2023 State IA as lockdown defenders. Ke’Ayla Madison Ke’Ayla Madison 5'5" | PG Roosevelt | 2023 State IA might be the most intriguing outside of the top five with her quickness and ability to score the ball. Her being at #6 for the point guards is a testament to how good she is because this guard class is loaded. You could potentially have up to 10 or so of these guards play D1 basketball and a lot of the others are definite scholarship level kids.
Be on the lookout for further analysis of the point guards later this week.
