Below is a list of players selected as the Midwest Classic Conference: First Team. The conference was led by Brookfield Academy who finished 12-0. Following behind them was Lake County Lutheran with 10-2 in conference action. Leading the conference in scoring this season was Myisha Malone Myisha Malone 5'4" | CG Messmer | 2020 State WI with 23.5 points per game. The leading rebounder was Morgan Allen with 9.5 boards per game.
Julia Jensen | Senior | Brookfield Academy | CG
Helping lead her team to the number one spot in the Midwest Classic conference this season. Jensen led her team in scoring this season averaging 13.1 points per game. Jensen is incredibly gifted offensively and plays with so much composure. A great outside shooter as well, Jensen made 52 three point baskets this year. A great floor general for Brookfield Academy, Jensen also led her team with 3.6 assists per matchup.
Erina Weiss | Senior | Brookfield Academy | F
Weiss was the key factor inside the paint for Brookfield Academy this season. She has a rare combination of size and skill that are super hard to defend. The senior averaged 10.2 points per game for her team. A primarily inside scorer, Weiss improved her mid range game this season. In a win against The Prairie School, Weiss scored a season-high 20 points. A great rebounder for her team as well, Weiss averaged 9.3 boards per game. In a game against Lake Country Lutheran, Weiss grabbed a season-high 19 rebounds in the victory.
Kate Benes | Senior | Lake Country Lutheran | PG
An ultra talented scorer and a fun player to watch compete. Benes leads her team so well. She sets the tone of the offense and is great at finding her shot. She is range effective and has confidence from everywhere on the floor. This season, the Lake Country Lutheran standout averaged 21.5 points per game. In a game against Milwaukee Academy of Science, Benes scored a season-high 42 points in the win.
Myisha Malone Myisha Malone 5'4" | CG Messmer | 2020 State WI | Senior | Messmer | G
Helping lead her team to third in conference play this season was the standout guard, Malone. Malone certainly has a scorers mentality. Her court vision is fantastic and she creates a game for herself. The senior did a great job finishing her shots this season against contact. She isn’t afraid to drive into a lane of posts and does a great job figuring out how to score around them. This season she averaged 23.5 points per game and made 17 three point baskets.
Kierra Bond Kierra Bond 5'7" | C Riverside | 2023 WI | Frosh | Messmer | F
The second leading scorer for Messmer this year, Bond did a great job stepping in for her team. As a freshman, Bond played as though she had a lot of experience. She’s not afraid of contact and uses her body well to gain position under the basket. This season she averaged 15 points per game. Bond does a really great job of scoring with her back to the basket. In a team win over Kenosha Christian Life, Bond scored a season-high 26 points.
Aidanne DePoy | Senior | University School | F
DePoy was second in scoring for University School this season. A strong forward who runs the break well and finishes with poise, averaged 12.5 points per game. DePoy has great awareness of the court and did a great job getting herself and her teammates open. She cuts to the basket well and has a smooth mid range jumper. An impact rebounder for her team as well, DePoy averaged 6.4 rebounds per game.
Rachel Shane | Junior | Heritage Christian | G
Shane led her team in scoring this season while averaging 15.8 points per game. Shane is a great shooter and has confidence far beyond the arc. In a team win over Living Word Lutheran, Shane dropped a season-high 33 points. She has a quick release and gets to the basket well with her quickness.
Erin Plopper | Senior | Living Word Lutheran | G
Plopper is a triple threat for Living Word Lutheran. She is the go-to player for all things on her team. She scores the basketball well, creating space for herself. She is also effective off the pass and has confidence shooting outside the arc. This season she averaged 8.8 points per game. A rebounding asset for her team as well, Plopper finished the season averaging 5.3 boards per matchup. Plopper was also an impressive defender this season grabbing 1.5 steals and 1.2 blocks per game.
