Two more seniors are headed to the Division 1 level and another top uncommitted senior announced she will be playing her college ball at the Division 2 level in the GNAC. Also, yet another 2021 announced her verbal commitment, as well as some other recruiting tidbits are included.
Lynnwood Star Headed to Portland State
2020 5’9 SG Nakia Boston Nakia Boston 5'9" | SG Lynnwood | 2020 State WA committed to Portland State this week. Boston had a very strong senior season, bringing in several honors and awards, but most importantly the college opportunity to play for the Vikings of the Big Sky Conference. She has the potential to play either guard position with her balance of scoring and passing ability at 5’9.
Grand Canyon Gets “Brown #2”
2020 5’10 SG Tiarra Brown Tiarra Brown 5'10" | SG Bethel | 2020 State WA is following in the footsteps of her older sister Tianna, with her commitment to Grand Canyon University. Tiarra, a first team All-State performer in 3A, will join the team in the upcoming season, while Tianna will be in her junior year for the Lopes. *Feature image
Saint Martin’s Gets Big Commitment
2020 5’11 SG Rian Clear Rian Clear 5'11" | SG Pullman | 2020 State WA announced her commitment to Division 2 Saint Martin’s University of the GNAC. The Walla Walla High School standout has a little bit of everything to her game on the offensive end as she can hit the outside shot, score in transition or pull up in the mid-range.
2021 Recruiting News:
2021 5’11 SF Skylar Bea Skylar Bea 5'11" | SF Washougal | 2021 State WA announced her commitment today via social media that she will be playing her college ball at the University of Idaho. Her older sister Beyonce Bea Beyonce Bea 6'1" | PF Washougal | 2019 State WA is a current freshman at Idaho and will be a junior by the time Skylar steps foot on campus. Skylar is a skilled hustle player that does a little bit of everything for Washougal High School.
2021 6’2 C Faith Bergstrom Faith Bergstrom 6'3" | C Camas | 2021 State WA of Camas High School continues to see her momentum rise, despite their being no Spring season. Bergstrom is a skilled post player with some physicality that has been targeted by several Division 1 schools. Her most recent offers have come in from Cal Poly, Harvard and Montana.
#1 Sophomore Getting “#1 Type Recruitment”
2022 6’2 SF Drea Brumfield Drea Brumfield 6'2" | SF WF West | 2022 State #72 Nation WA brings in her first Pac-12 offer after fielding several calls from high major schools throughout the country recently. Washington State University is the first high major to come through with an offer, adding to her current list of Portland and Portland State. Brumfield is ranked as the number one member of Washington’s 2022 class due to her height, length and versatility with continued room for growth.
