Ranging from classes 2021 all the way to 2023 we will look at some of the top talent from cities in the Bay Area such as, Oakland, San Francisco, Richmond, Orinda, and etc. With the elite offense most of these guards withhold in their game, there is no doubt they can play with the best of best in California. Let’s get to it.
#1. Amaya Bonner Amaya Bonner 6'0" | CG Bishop O'Dowd | 2022 State #44 Nation CA – 2022 Bishop O’Dowd High School
Amaya stands out from the rest of the athletes strictly because of her athleticism. If her game doesn’t impress you, I’m sure the video of her baby dunk will do the trick. How many sophomore, female high school basketball players have the ability to do that? Standing at 6’0″ with an elite IQ, Bonner reacts fluently off of the defense to give herself easy lanes to the basket. Her ability to gather, rise over her defender, and finish in the key is vey consistent. She goes up strong every possession. Hangtime is a hard skill to possess; reluctantly it gives her more efficiency to finish. One thing about Amaya that stood out was her semifinal game against Salesian College Prepatory. It wasn’t her best game, but through all quarters she kept her composure and made sure she produced other ways to help her team win. Amaya holds offers from multiple Pac12 schools, along with the Big10, and ACC.
#2. Kennedy Johnson Kennedy Johnson 6'0" | SF Bishop O'Dowd | 2021 State CA – 2021 Bishop O’Dowd High School
Kennedy is a player with a very high motor who loves to get after it. Along with being a disruptive force on the defensive end, her versatility and length allows her to be a threat on the wing and block. She helped lead her team to a CIF championship game and finished her junior season averaging 14.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. Johnson currently holds offers from Grand Canyon, San Jose State, UC Santa Barbara, University of San Francisco, and Florida A&M.
#3. Elle Ladine – 2022 Lowell High School
Elle excels and dominates from every part of the floor; specifically in scoring, rebounding, and defending. Ladine led her team to the SF Section title game averaging 25 points, 16 rebounds, 2 assist, and 3 blocks. She is proficient at creating her shot, and using quick moves to get to the basket. Unfortunate to say but she is definitely an athlete who is under the radar. With scoring 19 points in a quarter, there is no doubt she can hoop. Elle holds offers from University of San Francisco and Santa Clara University.
#4. Annabel Schneiberg – 2022 Lick-Wilmerding High School
A smart, quick, and very crafty guard who knows how to get to the basket and finish. Her assortment of ways to finish at the basketball is most impressive about her game. Annabel is very unselfish and always finds ways to put her teammates in the best position to score. She ended her sophomore season shooting 56% from FG and averaged 14 points per game. She was also named Bay Counties League-West Player of the Year. Schneiberg currently holds an offer from UCSB.
#5. Avery Lee Avery Lee 5'8" | SF Menlo School | 2021 State CA – 2022 Menlo School
Avery Lee Avery Lee 5'8" | SF Menlo School | 2021 State CA has one of the meanest hesitation moves in high school girls basketball. Any athlete guarding her has to be completely focused, if not, you’ll probably find yourself on her next mixtape getting your ankles broken. She dominates on the offensive end with her quick reactions off of the defense, her ability to finish around the basket, and most of all, her smooth jumper. Ending her season averaging 14 points, 3 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 3 steals, Avery helped lead her team to a CIF Central Coast Section Semifinal and Round II of CIF State Championship.
#6. Dymonique Maxie Dymonique Maxie 5'7" | PG Moreau Catholic HS | 2023 State CA – 2023 Moreau Catholic High School
As a freshman guard, Maxie averaged an impressive stat line with 15 points, 3 assists, 5.6 rebounds, and 4 steals a game. She also had a career high 31 points against Saint Mary’s (Berkeley) where she shot 60% from FG and 75% from 3FG; she also added 7 steals to the stat line that nigh. Dymonique is an unselfish star in the making who helped lead her team to a CIF North Coast Section D3 Championship.
#7. Jordan Allred – 2021 Miramonte High School
This 2021 Idaho commit is fearless when she’s attacking the basket and draws contact extremely well. Allred is a great 3 point shooter who will let it fly without hesitation. She has a relentless motor and her energy on defense is unmatched. Jordan averaged 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 3.3 steals for the Matadors for her junior season.
#8. Olivia Willliams – 2021 Archbishop Mitty High School
Williams is a sharp shooting, versatile shooting guard, who stands at 6’0.” The UC Irvine commit will let it loose from 3, so she is definitely a player you need to have eyes on at all times as a defender. Her length also her allows her to excel at the forward position. During her junior season she averaged 12 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.8 steals. Not only did she complete her season shooting 40% from the arc, in her biggest game she scored 21 points making 5 of her 8 three pointers.
#9. Mia Mastrov Mia Mastrov 5'11" | PG Miramonte | 2021 State CA – 2021 Miramonte High School
Averaging 15 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 3 steals Mastrov brings a great energy to her team along with her teammate Jordan Allred. She’s a long guard who has active hands and does exceptionally well at getting into passing lanes. Mia is another sharp shooter on her team who has no problem knocking down the 3 when she’s open. One thing that seems automatic to this point guard is when she reads her defender go under the screen during an on ball, she is automatically letting it fly.
#10. Talana Lepolo Talana Lepolo 5'7" | PG Saint Joseph Notre Dame HS | 2022 State CA – 2022 Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School
Talana is definitely the type of guard I have not seen in a while at the high school level. She 100% embodies the definition of a pass first point guard. She is always looking to get her teammates the ball, whether its pushing it up the floor or breaking down the defense for an easy pass off to one of her forwards. Lepolo lead her team in assist during her freshman and sophomore years. Even though she is looking for a pass first, there is no doubt she can get the ball in the net.
#11. Milan Tuttle – 2021 Heritage High School
Milan is a very confident, sharp shooting guard in the 2021 class. Her confidence lies in every part of her game but definitely stands out when it comes to shooting and dribbling. A few of her other many attributes also consist of finishing, passing, and court vision. She currently holds offers from Cal Poly Pamona, and Academy of Art University.
#12. Alexsandra Alvarado -2021 Salesian College Prepatory
Alvarado is a timid player’s worst nightmare. Totaling 91 steals in her junior season she is a defender that will stick on you like white on rice. Alexsandra was also able to load up 12 deflections in a tough game versus Chaminade. She’s very quick, and plays at a very high pace. Averaging 9.4 points, 2.9 assists, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals she loves to control the pace of the game when switching off to the point guard position. Adding to her offensive game, is her easy ability to get to the basket with only few dribbles. She is one of the few guards I’ve seen with the ability to blow by her defender with one dribble.
#13. Alli Dioli – 2023 Half Moon Bay High School
Alli is a very impressive freshman guard averaging 14 points, 3 assists, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals. Ending her season shooting 47% from FG and 41% from 3-point range she was name Peninsula Athletic League MVP, which is even more impressive with her being a 2023 graduate. Adding to her bag, Dioli helped lead Half Moon Bay to a Central Coast Section Division 4 title.
#14. Amira Brown Amira Brown 5'8" | CG Salesian College Prep | 2021 State CA – 2021 Salesian College Prepatory
Amira is a guard with elite athleticism and can flat out hustle. She loves to push the pace of the game, and beat her defenders up the court for easy lay ups on fast breaks. The 5’10″ guard isn’t afraid to dribble between to defenders to absorb the contact and get an and 1. Although she only averages 7.4 points, her hustle, fearlessness, and athleticism is a huge reason she shouldn’t be slept on.
#15. Abby Kennedy – 2022 Half Moon Bay High School
Abby made Half Moon Bay history during her freshman season when she was announced Peninsula Athletic League-North 1st team. She went back to back, winning the award again during her sophomore season while claiming the Central Coast Section Division 4 title. Kennedy is very fundamentally sound and has a very shot from FG and 3-point range. The 5’8″ guard is fearless going to the basket and does well at finishing in the paint with contact.
