Below is a list of players on the watch list for summer and next season. Each of these players have shown their talents in multiple ways. The anticipation for how each one of these players adds to their game is high. Each of these guards are extremely fun to watch and have high-ceilings to be the go-to players on their squad.
Ashlyn Yow Ashlyn Yow 5'6" | PG Waukesha West | 2022 State WI | 5’5 G | Waukesha West
Yow is a talented guard who understands her role and how to facilitate the offense. She has great court vision and finds her teammates open really well. She pushes the ball on offense and excels at passing into the post. Yow started her career at Wauwatosa East and during the 2018-2019 season she averaged 6.5 points per game and 3 assists per game. A defensive specialist as well, Yow grabbed 43 steals from that season. As she enters her next season with Waukesha West she will be looked on to set the tempo on offense. She currently holds an offer from Tennessee State.
Bayla Strandlie | 5’7 G | Mukwonago
Playing on a highly competitive Mukwonago squad, Strandlie played alongside the likes of multiple talented guards. She does a great job of knowing her role and understanding when to score or pass. She moves well without the ball and helps other guards get open. The guard averaged 5.9 points per game for her team. She found different ways to impact her game this season and helped her team to some big wins. In a game against Muskego she scored 10 points in the win. She will be a player that Mukwonago looks for to be successful next season.
Ashlyn Skinner- Barett | 5’8 PG | Waukesha South
The starting point guard for Waukesha South had an impressive season this year. She demands attention on the court as she is talented in multiple ways. She attacks the basket off screens and will also knock down a mid range bucket. She contributes offensively by her quick first step and ability to get a shot off super quick. She averaged 8.3 points per game for her team. The point guard had many standout games this season. In her final game this season against Kettle Moraine, Skinner-Barett scored a season-high 23 points.
Sierra Skack Sierra Skack 5'7" | CG Muskegoo | 2022 WI | 5’6 G | Muskego
Skack was the third leading scorer for her team this season. She plays with a great amount of patience and poise. She doesn’t force her shot and collects her feet before shooting from the perimeter. A quick guard who consistently put up good numbers and was a reliable player for her team. She’s primarily an inside shooting threat but developed more confidence mid season and began attempting a perimeter shot. In a game against Waukesha West, Skack scored a season-high 19 points in the win.
Valentino Shehu | 5’5 G | Oak Creek
Shehu is on this watchlist as she’s been on an experienced Oak Creek team the last two years and has been improving her game tremendously. This season she helped her team in multiple games in unique ways. She has nice handles on the perimeter and does a great job finding her teammates open. She’s a quick defender and will oftentimes be sent in to guard the opposing team’s biggest threat. She showed glimpses of her crafty moves offensively this season as well. On three different occasions she scored 7 points to help her team.
