Below is a list of the Top 10 prospects in the city of Fond Du Lac. The rankings are based upon skill and current success. The schools considered in the rankings are Saint Mary’s Springs, Winnebago Lutheran, North Fond Du Lac of the Flyway conference and Fond Du Lac of the Fox Valley Association conference.
1. Geneva Hewitt | Winnebago Lutheran | 5’8 G | Junior
The junior finished first in scoring this season for Winnebago Lutheran. She’s a versatile guard who gets the job well for her team. She can shoot the ball from almost anywhere on the court. She does a great job of creating her own space and attacking strong against contact. This season she averaged 15.4 points per game. A sniper beyond the arc, Hewitt also made 40 three point baskets. A quick defender with great footwork, Hewitt averaged 3.2 steals per game for Winnebago Lutheran.
2. Kiara Shea Kiara Shea 5'3" | PG Winnebago Lutheran | 2023 WI | Winnebago Lutheran | 5’3 PG | Freshman
Shae is a standout freshman who became an impact player this season for her team. She’s a quick and scrappy guard- finding crafty ways to score the basketball. She has a quick first step and does a great job capitalizing it at the rim. This season she averaged 9.3 points per game. In a win over Ripon, Shea scored a season-high 17 points per game. A defensive standout as well who will continue to improve, Shea averaged 2 steals per game with over 45 on the season.
3. Bree Rock | North Fond Du Lac | 5’6 G | Sophomore
The sophomore finished second in scoring this season. She finished averaging 9.3 points per game for North Fond Du Lac. Rock is a pure shooter for her team and does a great job finding her shot on the perimeter. She’s patient with the ball and is patient putting her shot up. She made 48 three point baskets this season.
4. Sophia Langille | Fond Du Lac | 5’8 G | Freshman
Langille is a triple threat for her team. She does all the little things right. She started as a role player and quickly transformed into a go-to player for her team. The freshman standout averaged 9.3 points per game. She’s super confident beyond the arc as well, shooting multiple three point shots per game. An impressive passer as well, Langille finished the season averaging 2.7 assists per game. Defensively she impacts the game with her speed and ability to chase down the basketball. She averaged 4.8 rebounds per game and had over 30 steals on the season.
5. Hallie Treptow | Fond Du Lac | 5’10 F | Freshman
Another freshman on the list is the strong forward Treptow. She’s certainly a player to watch as she adds more moves to her bag and becomes stronger in the lane. She has a great release to her shot and many times attempted the open three point basket. She has great control of her body and has a high ceiling in her shot blocking ability. A rebounder for her tea, Treptow finished second by averaging 4.7 rebounds per game.
6. Kaylee Frey | Winnebago Lutheran | 5’11 PG | Junior
Frey stands out and is on this list simply for the work she puts in on the boards. Both offensively and defensively she impacts the game with her ability to rebound. She keeps the ball high and scores put back buckets as well as grabbing a defensive board and pushing in transition. She finished second in rebounding this season with 7.3 boards per game. A smooth offensive threat as well, Frey averaged 8.4 points per game.
7. Sydney Pitz | Saint Mary’s Springs | 5’8 G | Freshman
Pitz really stepped out of her shell late this season. She handled the pressure and didn’t shy away from big opportunities. She started the season a fierce defender- often guarding the opposing team’s best player. She’s quick with her footwork and has the ability to grab multiple steals per game. She averaged 3.3 per gme and had 80 steals during her first varsity season. Mid-season, she became more confident in her mid range game. Pitz averaged 7.5 points per game for her team this season.
8. Isabelle Coon | Saint Mary’s Springs | 5’9 G | Sophomore
Coon led her team in both scoring and assists this season. She has the ability to control the game with her patience and poise. She handles the ball well and is not frazzled by high defensive pressure. This season she averaged 9.9 points per game. She will shoot the outside shot if left open but is more comfortable attacking the rim. In a win against Lomira, Coon scored a season-high 18 points. She is a floor general as well. She finds her teammates open off screens and in the lane. She averaged 2.9 assists per game for Saint Mary’s Springs.
9. Alexys Schneider | North Fond Du Lac | 5’9 F | Junior
Schneider does a great job helping her team in multiple ways. She’s a fierce defender in the lane and uses her size to altar opponents. She’s a great rebounder as well and is impressive using her body. This season she averaged 7 rebounds per game. Offensively she can score the basketball in transition and on the block. She averaged 6.4 points per game.
10. Morgan Wallendal | Fond Du Lac | 5’5 G | Junior
Wallendal is a great role player who may step up to play a bigger role during her senior campaign. She pushes the tempo on offense and is a great floor general. She’s a great passer who has a good eye for finding her teammates. A great floor communicator as well, Wallendal is a good leader for her squad.
