Obviously, these regions will change into next season but for these stories it was the easiest way to divide players and teams as equally as possible.
We will be writing a series of three stories for each region in the state and the categories are as follows: 2023’s to put on Your Radar, 2022’s who can Breakout, and 2021’s Who Should be Valued by Colleges.
Dani Johnson Dani Johnson 6'1" | PF Osage | 2021 State IA – Osage
The leading returning scorer from the regional is Osage junior Dani Johnson Dani Johnson 6'1" | PF Osage | 2021 State IA .
Johnson helped the Green Devils reach the state tournament, winning 24 games overall. She posted 390 total points with 178 rebounds, 64 steals, 61 assists and 16 blocked shots, making 43 percent of her field goals and 50 three-pointers.
Johnson is also a standout on the volleyball court where she has caught the attention of college coaches.
Taylor Krager Taylor Krager 5'6" | SF Sioux Center | 2021 State IA – Sioux Central
Coming off a 16-win season that included a run to the regional semifinals, Sioux Central will lean on Taylor Krager Taylor Krager 5'6" | SF Sioux Center | 2021 State IA to keep the momentum going.
Krager finished her junior year averaging 12 points, four rebounds and three assists, and will be counted on to replace the graduated Karly Boettcher Karly Boettcher 5'6" | SG Sioux Center | 2020 State IA , who led the team in scoring.
Overall, Krager had 280 points, 88 rebounds, 70 assists, 50 steals and 21 blocks, making 18 triples.
Abbie Schany Abbie Schany 5'7" | SF Emmetsburg | 2021 State IA – Emmetsburg
Emmetsburg pushed Osage to the brink in a regional final, coming up just short to end the year 17-6.
The E-Hawks lose leading scorer and rebounder Molly Schany Molly Schany 6' | PF Emmetsburg | 2020 State IA , but Abbie Schany Abbie Schany 5'7" | SF Emmetsburg | 2021 State IA is ready to fill the void.
Abbie Schany Abbie Schany 5'7" | SF Emmetsburg | 2021 State IA led Emmetsburg with 69 assists, adding 245 points, 99 rebounds and 45 steals. She shot 40 percent from the floor and buried 23 three-pointers.
Taylor Ingledue – Lake Mills
For Lake Mills to compete with the top dogs next winter, they will need even more out of Taylor Ingledue.
The junior was second on the team with 222 points this past year, adding 141 rebounds, 38 blocks, 30 steals and 27 assists. Ingledue shot 35 percent from the field and go to the free throw line a team-best 155 times.
Ellie Bobinet Ellie Bobinet 5'9" | SG Osage | 2021 State IA – Osage
Another member of Osage who will be counted on to help the team get back to the state tournament is junior Ellie Bobinet Ellie Bobinet 5'9" | SG Osage | 2021 State IA .
The Green Devils will graduate a handful of key pieces, but Bobinet could be in for a big senior season.
She finished this past year with 266 total points, shooting 47 percent from the field and 45 percent from the 3-point line. Bobinet also had 83 rebounds, 50 steals, 48 assists and 12 blocked shots.
