Obviously, these regions will change into next season but for these stories it was the easiest way to divide players and teams as equally as possible.
We will be writing a series of three stories for each region in the state and the categories are as follows: 2023’s to put on Your Radar, 2022’s who can Breakout, and 2021’s Who Should be Valued by Colleges.
We will continue to go through each region and aim to hit as many players as we can that we haven’t talked about previously. Here are five 2022’s who could be primed for big seasons.
Payton Beckman Payton Beckman 5'4" | PG Panorama | 2022 State IA – Panorama
The coaching staff at Panorama knew they had something special in their Class of 2022 group of players, and they provided them quite the run this past season.
Winners of the West Central Conference, the Panthers went 20-4 overall and reached a regional championship before falling to West Hancock.
Now, a season older, Panorama has all the tools to make a state run. Leading scorer Payton Beckman Payton Beckman 5'4" | PG Panorama | 2022 State IA is back after averaging just under 19 points a game on 42 percent shooting from the field, 34 percent from the 3-point line and 81 percent at the free throw line.
She also led the team with almost three assists per game, adding 104 steals, 91 rebounds and 56 made three-pointers.

Kennedy Kelly Kennedy Kelly 5'4" | PG West Hancock | 2022 State IA – West Hancock

Angel Poldberg Angel Poldberg 5'9" | PF Panorama | 2022 State IA – Panorama
The second piece to the sophomore class at Panorama, Angel Poldberg Angel Poldberg 5'9" | PF Panorama | 2022 State IA started all 24 games alongside Payton Beckman Payton Beckman 5'4" | PG Panorama | 2022 State IA .
Poldberg led the Panthers at just under eight rebounds per game, finishing with a total of 187. She also added 243 points, 63 steals, 39 assists and 16 blocks, knocking down 16 three-pointers and shooting 43 percent from the floor.
Laci Rishel – Panorama
Another sophomore who started 21 games this past year for Panorama, Laci Rishel scored 255 points to place second on the team.
Rishel buried 28 three-pointers, shooting 37 percent from the floor with 75 rebounds, 66 steals, 53 assists and 16 blocks.
