Director Chris Koebelin has been working hard for several years trying to level up the basketball culture in Bremerton, Silverdale, Port Orchard, Gig Harbor and surrounding areas. The 17u Black team is the 17u elite travel team and consists of prospects in the 2021, 2022 and 2023 classes.
The coaches from this group are Marcus Scott and Steffon Stanley who both bring a lot of experience in girls basketball. Coach Scott is the Head Coach at Lincoln High School (Seattle) after stops at Tacoma Community College and Green River College. Coach Stanley also has Tacoma roots as he is an assistant at Lincoln High School (Tacoma) and he also coaches at Gray Middle School in Tacoma.
CABC 17u Black Roster
2021 5’5 CG Areeza Amian (South Kitsap HS) – A strong and physical guard who can handle the ball and score inside or outside. Areeza will be a valuable piece in the backcourt and will be leaned on to score and defend both guard positions.
2021 5’5 CG Jakyiaah Willis (Olympic HS) – One of the best athletes and defenders on the team. Jakyiiah will be relied upon to guard opposing team’s best perimeter players, as well as get out in transition and get easy buckets.
2022 5’4 PG Ella Koebelin Ella Koebelin 5'4" | PG Klahowya | 2022 State WA (Klahowya HS) – Point Guard of the group and the best leader on the floor. She will be relied upon to organize the team as well as knock down 3’s from all over the court and get her teammates easy buckets. Ella is always calm under pressure and wants the ball with the game on the line.
2022 5’6 W Mia Spandler (South Kitsap HS) – One of the best pure shooters in our program. Mia will help the team stretch the floor while also being able to guard wings and posts with her strength inside.
2022 5’6 G Natalie Millet (South Kitsap HS) – A player capable of making plays on both sides of the ball. Brings some toughness on defense and she is another great 3 point shooter.
2022 5’10 PF Amaya Saunders (Central Kitsap HS) – A consistent post player that will need to continue to do the dirty work getting rebounds and battling with bigger and stronger post players.
2022 5’5 G Char Katz (Central Kitsap HS) – The type of player that does all of the intangibles. An in your face defender that seems to be constantly moving. Can knock down the outside shot.
2023 5’9 F Justyne Niemann (South Kitsap HS) – Youngest player on the team as an incoming sophomore. She is a ferocious rebounder and defender as well as great at finishing at the basket. Brings a ton of energy to the court.
