Skye Stephens (Warren HS)
Stephens showed her explosiveness off the dribble as well as her shooting but I sort of knew that was coming as she simply brings the heat on both ends of the court. She’s fast but more importantly, fast with the ball and makes passes on te money going full speed
Future Acevado (Warren HS)
Acevado can shoot it and her range is deep but what I love about her shot is that the release is not only quick but accurate as well. She understands how to create hr shot while being guarded tightly and she mixes it up nicely by adding the midrange
Emery Black (NB Canyon)
Black fills in many blanks and does so many things that don’t show up in box score like setting picks that lead to baskets as well as making stops on defense by reacting bit she can also score, attacking the rim or hitting the midrange
Zaadiyah Stovall (Judson HS)
Stovall falls into that long and athletic category and as I say, that is the base and she’s using her athletic ability even better this season by setting defenders up so she can blow by them. What’s even better is that she’s finishing with contact as well as playing the passing lane
Chase Goetz (NB Canyon)
Goetz is long and athletic as well but she is showing that midrange is a nice “go-to” shot and she’s delivering it. Creating her shot off the dribble is nice but elevating over defenders is even nicer
Alexandria Brown (Wagner HS)
Brown is active on the court and by her constantly moving, that gets her open for some looks and she too falls into that long and athletic category but watching her finish with players hanging on her was sweet
This is a solid squad, Mia Jiminez (Incarnate Word), Madison Velez (Brennan HS), Elyse Sellers (Brennan HA) and Alexandria Brown (Wagner HS) have all shown me they could play in the past and the improvement from Yulissa Yebra (Nikki Rowe HS) who used her body nicely and is finishing stronger
