Expectations will be high surrounding the do it all James in 2021. Arguably the top scoring point guard in the state, she is coming off a junior campaign in which she led the Saxons to a 23-4 record and a trip to the 6A state semifinals averaging 16.5 points, 6.1 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.1 steals per game. Expect the all-state James to come out gunning for a return to the tournament and a run to a potential 6A state title.

Leading what is likely to be the preseason 2020 #1 team in 6A, the 5-4 Coleman blends unique athleticism, unmatched speed, and an increasingly developing ability to score on offense with harassing defensive pressure to put herself among the top floor leaders in the state. After leading the Panthers to an impressive victory in the 2020 6A quarterfinals over league rival Sheldon in which she dropped 26 points, Coleman was poised for a matchup with James and the Saxons in the 6A semifinals before the game was canceled due to Covid-19.

Olivia Pierzina – Sheldon – Sr.
Hon. Mention all-SWC
Pierzina enters the 2021 season poised to break out for the Irish. Building on her 2020 campaign in which she directed a senior heavy Sheldon squad to a 23-6 record and a run to the 6A quarterfinals while being primarily a distributor and a defender (4.2 assists, 3.2 steals). Look for the 5-4 senior to be more aggressive offensively and look to increase her scoring opportunities.

Forced to miss several games to injury and illness, the versatile Doutt was a force when healthy. Although they failed to qualify for the state playoffs in 2020, the Celtics will make a push in 2021 with a healthy Doutt on the floor more consistently and looking to improve 13.3 points, 4.4 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game.

The only junior on the list, the 5-4 Megert made her mark as a Sophomore primarily as a scorer for South Eugene averaging 13 points per game. The Axe will return enough this season that the sharpshooting Megert will look to expand her game in 2021 and help will the Axe into the postseason.
