Continue ReadingThese players provide much-needed versatility to their respective teams as they can easily move between the guard and small forward positions with ease and still be productive. This is going to bode well for all of them as they will possess skills to play either position at the next level and they will be more than capable. Big things are expected from each one next season and I feel they have the goods to deliver.
Mariah Frazier Mariah Frazier 6'0" | CG Ragsdale | 2021 State NC – 5’10”- Senior- Ragsdale High School
The epitome of versatile this player has the skills and athletic ability to play any position on the floor both offensively and defensively. With her size, the fact that she is most comfortable at the small forward or even shooting guard spot shows her vast array of skills that include her ability to shoot the ball even from deep and her ball-handling skills even for her size and her great ability to pass the ball. She also may be one of the best defenders in the area if not the state as she was named conference defensive POY as one of the honors she received. She has already attracted the interest of many Division 1 programs and rightfully so.
JeBria Fullwood- 5’9”- Senior- Greensboro Day School
An exceptional player that can play multiple positions that produced many double-figure points and rebounds games on her way to numerous honors including POY in the PTAC conference and All-Area and State honors. She is extremely athletic and uses this to score in a number of ways whether in the lane or shooting the ball which she does very well. She has an uncanny knack for always being in position for rebounds on both ends of the floor which for her size is remarkable and will be an attribute that will assist her at the next level. Her size lends one to think she will be a quality off guard at the next level and her skills show that she would be more than capable of filling this role for any team in any division.
Michelle Petrangeli-5’9”- Senior- Bishop McGuinness High School
The ultimate basketball junkie and gym rat her play shows she not only loves playing the game she studies it, she feels it and she understands it. Her basketball IQ is unmatched and her knowledge of the game is impressive she just knows where to be and why and how in short she just knows how to play the game. Her basketball skills are just as impressive, she can play outside or inside depending on what is needed and she makes the transition seamlessly with no drop off in her play or productivity. She is a tremendous outside shooter who is smart enough to use this to set up her drives to the rim where she finishes with regularity. With all of this what really stands out is her leadership and on a team full of freshman and sophomores she led them to within 2 points of a berth in the state championship. No matter what position they view her filling for their team any college coach will be fortunate to have this player on their roster with all the skills she possesses and expect her to be successful no matter where she ends up.
Taylor Haynes- 5’9”- Senior- Northern Guilford High School
A high energy player that boasts a solid array of talents and basketball skills. She is one of those players that seem made for this game with her athleticism and build which she uses to her advantage. It enables her to excel in transition whether running the lane or showing off her ball-handling skills leading the break where she is a very capable passer. As a 3 point shooter, she has great form and is a deadly corner shooter that rarely misses the open opportunity. These skills, as well as her ability to defend multiple positions and her ability to move without the ball, bodes well for her at the next level where most big-time colleges will see her as a 2 guard while she would be just as comfortable as a small forward at smaller colleges, either way, her work ethic, and big motor will make her a valuable asset to any teams roster.
Briahna Scott-5’9”- Sophomore- Williams High School
After an impressive freshman season, the sky is the limit on this player and you can expect big things from her in her sophomore season. She is an athletic lefty that possesses long arms and legs that allow her to cover a lot of ground quickly which aids her both offensively and defensively. She seems to guide up and down the court and is electric in transition where she finishes at the rim with ease and is just as good running down plays on the defensive end to block shots or get in passing lanes. She has a nice shooting form and is solid from midrange and is working hard to add that 3 point threat to her arsenal and as she does she will become even more difficult to guard. With a year of experience under her belt and extra offseason time expect more from her as she is just so exciting to watch and expect her to gain more and more attention from coaches at the next level.
