Several Arizona programs made the trip to compete, to get some game film and play in front of scouts from Arizona, California and Nevada. Here are some of the standout performers from the class of 2022.
Trayanna Crisp Trayanna Crisp 5'7" | CG PHH Prep | 2022 State AZ (Arizona Select Boyd)
Crisp can take over a game in a variety of ways. In one of her firsts games, game she was creating turnovers leading that led to multiple easy baskets by playing the passing lanes. Completely changed the game. Crisp shot well all weekend and her physical presence can be intimidating to anyone she is defending. She has shown the ability to stay in front of smaller guards and basically eliminate the dribble penetration.
Kennedy Basham Kennedy Basham 6'7" | C Pinnacle | 2022 State #16 Nation AZ (Arizona Select Boyd) – Basham is the 16th ranked player in the country and she is heavily recruited by an assortment of schools from the Power 5 conferences. Basham is very underrated as a shot blocker as she has good hand to eye coordination and movement in the paint. On offense, she has an assortment of go to moves and she is now showing the ability to put it on the floor from the elbow. As an added bonus, Basham is becoming consistent at knocking down the 3. Extremely bright future for this prospect.
Hannah Robbins (AZ Shockers) – Robbins stock has risen so much this summer and she continues to show us something new to her game at every event. She pretty much scored from everywhere on the court against some very intense competition. Robbins competes and she plays with a ton of confidence and savvy. Great size for a guard and she will be one of the top AIA players in the state for sure along with her Shockers running mate Lilah Moore Lilah Moore 5'8" | CG Arizona Elite Prep | 2022 State AZ . Both Robbins and Moore play for the Elite who was not participating in this event.. Short drive up to Vegas and they balled out. Somehow, someway…Robbins was left off the rankings last time around. Not sure what happened there but it will be corrected on the next go around.
Jennah Isai Jennah Isai 5'11" | SF Valley Vista | 2022 State #39 Nation AZ (Arizona Select Boyd) – Isai was getting to the rim all weekend. She puts so much pressure on the opposing team to make the correct defensive adjustments due to her ability to get to the rack and draw fouls. Isai puts the pressure on the refs to make a call because of ability to play through contact. She gets more And 1s than any player I have seen in a while. Isai is a big, physical guard with an impressive first step and she has the ability to play multiple positions due to the combination of polished skills, great size and a very good motor.
Lilah Moore Lilah Moore 5'8" | CG Arizona Elite Prep | 2022 State AZ (AZ Shockers)
Moore is turning into an elite point guard right in front of our eyes. Although she was ranked somewhat high last year, she has proved that she belongs in the conversation as a top 10 prospect in a very good class. Moore battled against some aggressive defenders and team defenses that was intent on taking her out of the game. She persevered and met all challenges while posting good numbers and having a low turnover to assist ratio for the weekend. Her ability to get to the rack is improving as well.
Lexi McNabb Lexi McNabb 5'6" | CG Lincoln Prep (Canada) | 2022 State AZ (Arizona Select Boyd)
McNabb is a pass first guard and one of the better lead guards in the state irregardless of class. She will look for her shot at times but she is more intent on running the offense and getting everyone involved. Even with all this elite guard talent on this Select team, McNabb’s ability to run this offense was evident.
Jaida Brooks Jaida Brooks 5'7" | CG PHH Prep | 2022 State AZ (Arizona Select Boyd)
Brooks really excelled at blowing by defenders which caused havoc on the opposing team’s interior defense. She plays fast and she plays hard…but Brooks always seems to be in control as she has a calmness about her. This combo guard is as fast as anyone in the state going from baseline to baseline. You can see it in her eyes and demeanor that she wants to get better with each outing,
Others 2022s that performed well: Saniyah Neverson Saniyah Neverson 6'0" | PF PHH Prep | 2022 State AZ (Arizona Select Boyd), Sasha Daniel Sasha Daniel 5'7" | CG Seton Catholic Prep | 2022 State AZ (Arizona Select Boyd), Reagan Grimsey (AZ Shockers)
