It seems like programs at the next level are always looking for post players. My advice: Don’t stop scrolling through the rankings, as there are talented power forwards on the list. We’ll look at the PF’s ranked 200 and beyond. All of these players could be a great small school fit.
Ally Hall Ally Hall 6'0" | PF Montague | 2021 State MI (PF, Montague)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: 210
Hall had an excellent junior season. She’s an athletic 4 that that gets off the ground quickly. Hall is a bouncy player always hits the stat sheet. She was always a double-double threat during high school season.
Mikayla Rutgers Mikayla Rutgers PF East Grand Rapids | 2021 State MI (PF, East Grand Rapids)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: 212
Rutgers is a physically strong post player. East Grand Rapids is loaded with elite perimeter talent, but she’s the glue that holds it down in the paint. Rutgers may not get the publicity as some of her teammates, but trust me, she’s can play and is definitely worth a look.
De’Lahna Porter De’Lahna Porter PF Ludington | 2021 State MI (PF, Ludington)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #214
Porter moves well both horizontally and vertically. She gets high off the floor when attacking the rim with the ball or searching out a rebound. Porter is a high percentage scorer. She’s very smooth and athletic in transition.
Grace Weitzel Grace Weitzel PF Bay City Western | 2021 State MI (PF, Bay City Western)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #217
Weitzel is definitely worth a look from college coaches. She’s a creative scorer that can get points in a variety of ways. Weitzel is comfortable with the ball in her hands in traffic in the lane. She’s strong and sturdy, and doesn’t get knocked off course easily.
Annie MacLeod Annie MacLeod 6'0" | PF L'Anse Creuse North | 2021 State MI (PF, L’Anse Creuse North)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #221
I’m a big fan of Macleod’s game. She’s a glue type player that’s willing to do the dirty work in the paint. MacLeod is a solid post defender. She seems to always look for a body to box out on a shot attempt.
