Kentucky has a promising group of talented players in the class of 2023. The state is loaded with NCAA prospects. Lets dive into some of the players that are on the rise in the class of 2023.
Chandler Duncan Chandler Duncan 5'5" | PG Pleasure Ridge Park | 2023 State KY , Pleasure Ridge Park Point Guard – In a recent tournament in Indianapolis she handled the her point guard duties well. Duncan was relentless getting to the basket with strong finishes. Just getting to the basket isn’t all she does. Duncan was all about the mid-range jumper which has become a lost art in the game today. She was creating space to get her shot off. Like most young players there is always room for improvement. If she continues to improve, look for her to be a name in the 2023 class.
Kaia Grabbert, Bardstown Guard – Over the summer months Kaia has shown other aspects to her game which has gained her interest from division one programs FAMU and Tennessee Tech. At 5’9″ with a strong athletic build she has the body and athleticism to match of a division one athlete. Improving her range on her jumpers has helped Kaia to become more versatile. She is an explosive leaper who can grab rebounds.She plays good defense in an uptempo system with her athleticism. She is used to playing that style with her high school squad. As she becomes more comfortable handling the ball and making decisions from the off guard spot, look for Kaia’s recruiting to take off.
Sammy Berman, Dixie Heights Wing – Sammy’s recent play during the month of July showed off her defensive prowess. She was being very disruptive getting her hands on a lot of the opponents passes. She rebounded the ball well.On the offensive end of the floor you can see her natural play making ability. Berman attacked the basket with her slashing ability and finished well. Her ability to slash creates a lot of opportunities for her teammates.
Noelle Hubert, Notre Dame Forward – Noelle has great length that she uses well. She has the ability to knock down shots from the outside.She plays on the same travel team with Sammy and was the recipient of a lot of her passes from her slashing. She shot the ball well under pressure also. Hubert has a good touch on her shot. Her length helped her around the rim rebounding and scoring.
