Below are forwards to keep note off as the Grassroots season ends and the high school season approaches. These forwards have high upside for the next level and are strong finishers and impact rebounders.
Angela Slattery | Wisconsin Impact | 5’11 F
Slattery is a prospect with a high upside for her high school and AAU squad. To start, she possesses plus athleticism that allows her to be a menace on the fast break and finish at the rim. Quick foot speed enables Slattery to easily beat her defenders to the basket with the straight line drive. It also allows her to defend well on the perimeter and recover if beaten off the dribble. She has a good handle for her size, and her shot form is next level ready due to the high release. Slattery is a tremendous scorer in the midrange, specifically she’s very consistent from the elbow areas when shooting off the dribble.
Alyssa Nimz | 1 on 1 MKE | 6’1 F
Nimz is a smooth, versatile forward that is a phenomenal facilitator. Her ability to create for her teammates and dish the ball to the open player is very impressive for her size. She makes the right pass in the fast break and does not force opportunities. The Winona State commit is great at reacting to the defense, and then making the correct read. Her ball handling has improved greatly, and she should be able to hold her own on the perimeter next year.
Emma Scurek | Wisconsin Impact | 5’10 F
Scurek can do a little bit of everything on the floor for her Wisconsin Impact team. She’s an elite shooter from long range, and while her release isn’t the quickest, it’s high enough to avoid contesting defenders. Pull-up jumpers in the midrange find the bottom of the net consistently. She shows the ability to slash through defenders and get to the bucket from the wings. She’s light on her feet, and she is slippery in the lane. She seems to be very comfortable in the lane. She creates space on the block well and is very efficient making a move on the block.
Laura Nickel Laura Nickel 6'0" | PF Marshall | 2021 State WI | WI Purple Aces | 6’0 F
Nickel is a highly explosive athlete with highlight reel potential on every play. She has great bounce paired with elite quickness gives her the ability to be a very electrifying player on both ends of the court. Offensively, Nickel plays well on and off the ball. She has a quick first step allowing her to get downhill in a hurry. She moves well off the ball and gets up and down well. She has nice handles for her size and could easily a wing with her fundamentals and ability to knock down the perimeter basket.
