It’s a simple formula, for me, yet complicated for many so after reading some threads between coaches on emails they receive, if you’re a 5’8 post, you need to be working on handling the ball, as well as facing the basket and scoring, this is just simple logic so here are a mix of guards that do different things
Zoe Nelson Zoe Nelson 6'1" | PF Hendrickson | 2021 State TX -6’2 (Hendrickson HS)
Nelson can play all five positions and will more than likely play multiple positions in college. She handles the ball well so she can attack and finish after contact, the mid to long-range is solid and she sees the floor but she also rebounds and defends
Emari Sidney Emari Sidney 5'7" | CG Cy Springs | 2021 State TX -5’9 (Cy Springs HS)
Sidney has always played hard and I love the fact that she has expanded her game from just being a back to the basket player to a player that can score off the dribble as well as the long ball and she rebounds on both ends of the court
Madison Clay-5’5 (Manvel HS)
Clay is athletic and uses her athleticism nicely to create her shot for either the pull-up jumper or attacking the basket which she did numerous times. Another thing she did was play the passing lane, over and over which I definitely enjoyed
Daleah Edwards-5’6 (SA Veterans Memorial)
Edwards showed she could handle the ball and control the tempo not to leave out her ability to see the floor, all great qualities for running the one but she showed she could score as well as defend consistently in the half and full-court
Celeste Elliot-5’9 (Shelbyville HS)
Elliot first grabbed my attention battling for rebounds and used her strength to finish on the putbacks but with the blink of an eye, she showed she could shoot it, from deep and knocked the long ball down several times as well as from midrange
Jacoria Moore-5’9 (Tompkins HS)
Moore is so athletic and strong and utilizes both quite well either to attack the rim and finish after contact or snagging a rebound and going coast to coast for a lay-up. She has a nice jumper and plays the passing lane and also defends
Madelyn Tellez-5’6 (Dobie HS)
Telez mixes it up nicely from mid to long-range and she sets either up by creating her shot which she showed over and over so when you add the fact that she has a nice pull-up jumper, you get the picture as she understood how to take defenders as well
Emma Robles-5’9 (Alvin HS)
Robles does a good job of creating her shot, under pressure and this enables her to get to whatever spot she wants to take the pull-up jumper and she showed she could nail it. She also attacked the rim multiple times and finished after contact
