Here are a few of the standouts from the first round of the classic.
Haelim Adle | 5’8” | PG | 2022 | North Georgia Magic – Adle (featured image) brings skill, intellect, and toughness to the floor. She uses her size well on both ends of the floor. She is hard to move off her path when driving lanes and has the touch and skill to finish with floaters over defenders or through contact at the rim. She showed good vision and made some good passes in the half court. Look for her to pick up traction on the recruiting trail.
Jada Richards | 5’9” | G | 2021 | Douglasville Lady Tigers – Richards played well against the D1 loaded Georgia Pearls. She showed a consistent catch and shoot jumper from the wing taking advantage of open looks created by good ball movement. She went 3 of 4 from distance and showed that she could put the ball on the floor and get to the rim. I was also impressed with her willingness to rebound as she ended with 6 boards.
Kamryn Bates | 5’5” | PG | 2022 | Georgia Pearls Jr. National – I’ve had a chance to see Bates play a few times now and each outing she has managed the game well. Her selflessness and ability to do the little things well equate to winning basketball. She is a tough defender, good distributor, and does a good job of playing with pace; knowing when to speed it up or slow it down. A true point guard.
Carly Fahey Carly Fahey 5'8" | PG Hebron Christian | 2021 State GA | 5’8” | PG | 2021 | Atlanta Cagers Storm – The UNC Asheville commit was deadly behind the arc today going 4 for 5 from deep. She has continued to improve her jumper and she looked very confident shooting it both off the bounce and on catch and shoot situations from the top of the key. The added consistent shooting will complement her already proven high IQ and vision in transition.
Tiara Lewis Tiara Lewis 5'11" | PF Osborne | 2021 State GA | 5’10” | F | 2021 | Team Justus League – Lewis played an energetic and aggressive game. She has showed the best motor so far. Where she lacks in skill she made up for with energy. She scored, defended and aggressively rebounded through her effort and picked up a few blocks in the process. Watching her play leaves me believing that she has the work ethic to continuously get better and add to her game.
Cameria Reed | 5’5” | G | 2024 | FBC Black Future – A small thick guard that seemed to be shock resistant at times. She scored several baskets in transition after using her active hands to grab steals when on ball. Her offensive game was best when getting downhill and she showed nice dribble moves to shift defenders. She also showed good recognition of help defenders picking up a couple assists on drops to her bigs.
Jer’Maya Moore | 5’11” | F | 2021 | FBC Bounce Nation Kay – It was great to see Moore back on the court after suffering an ACL tear early in the high school season. She rebounded very well and scored on the interior using power while taking on contact. She brings some versatility to the floor on the defensive end where she can guard on the perimeter and in the painted area. She does not shy away from physical play.
