2020-21 Previews: Des Moines East, DM Hoover, DM Lincoln

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Des Moines East Scarlets</strong> 6-16 last year 36.4 points scored, 56.5 points against 9 returning players</p> Des Moines East finished with just six wins a year ago, placing fourth in the CIML Metro Conference standings at 5-6. That was with a group of seniors that included leading scorer and rebounder [player_tooltip player_id="135168" first="Rachel" last="Puok"]. She has moved on along with Brecklin Williams and Hannah Oleson. Juniors such as Remmi Dyer, Alea Hoof and Lyric Sellers will be counted on to shoulder the bulk of the production. Hoover won just three games, averaging 36 points a night. They made only 77 three-pointers in 22 games, and lose 29 of those with the graduation of Daija Bates. Olivia Jones, a junior, is the leading returning scorer along with the likes of Taysia Young, Amaria Turner and Cynthia Renes. The Railsplitters averaged under 21 points per game, but leading scorer Janae Wynter returns. Wynter, a sophomore, posted 78 points on the year. Junior Jaida Taylor led the team in rebounding with 82 boards, and was also tops in assists with 21.
