This group of players are the best of the best in the KC metro area and will be super fun to watch as they compete one last time during their senior seasons. These teams came about from hours of watching high school film, getting on AAU live streams, contacting various AAU coaches, and just what I have seen from these players so far! So let’s take a look at the teams!
1st Team
Jaelyn Glenn Jaelyn Glenn 5'11" | SG Barstow | 2021 State #82 Nation MO Ι 5’11″ SG Ι Barstow Ι KC Lady Run GMC Ι K State Commit
The best overall player in the ’21 class, Jaelyn is a long and athletic guard with excellent ball skills, really defends on the perimeter, and she is outstanding playing at the point. Her range on her jumper out to the three-point line has improved and she is a fantastic defender both on the ball, in the post, or coming from the weak side. Jaelyn is a fast break starter with her ability to rebound and push. She excels in transition and finishes everything at the rim. Look for Jaelyn to have a monster senior season for The Barstow school; especially playing alongside her twin sister Brylee.
Serena Sundell Serena Sundell 6'0" | CG Maryville | 2021 State MO Ι 6’0″ CG Ι Maryville Ι KC Lady Run GMC Ι K State Commit
One of the most complete combo guards in ’21 class. A Class 3 All-Stater last season, Serena has a nice pace to her game and never plays out of control. She is smooth with her handles and is a three-level scorer. An elite shooter from three and has a nice mid-range game, Serena can create off the bounce and finish at the rim. She is an excellent defender with her length and defensive instincts. She rebounds very well from the guard spot and plays just as good on the ball running the show.
Ja’Mya Powell-Smith Ja’Mya Powell-Smith 5'5" | PG North Kansas City | 2021 State MO Ι 5’5″ PG Ι North Kansas City Ι Della Lamb Running Angels Ι Grand Canyon Commit
The best complete point guard in the ’21 class and back to back All-State Class 5 selection, Ja’Mya is fantastic in the open floor. Her understanding of how to get hers and get her teammates involved sets her apart from the other point guards in the city. She is an elite-level scorer both off the dribble and shooting from the three-point line. She can get anywhere on the court with her handles and is a tough on-ball defender. Ja’Mya is one of a few players in the state that her play and leadership lifts her teammates play.
Kyndal Lewis Kyndal Lewis 5'10" | PF Belton | 2021 State MO Ι 5’10″ Wing Forward Ι Belton Ι Next level Eclipse Ι Eastern Michigan Commit
The 19-20 season was Kyndal’s most accomplished season so far. The Class 5 All-State, All-Conference, All-District selection, Kyndal is an elite-level scorer out of the post and is a mismatch off the dribble. Her understanding of how to play out of double teams, ability to not force shots, and her overall strength in the paint, make her a force on the floor. She is an elite rebounder and post defender. She made vast improvements this summer with her handles and perimeter play.
Brylee Glenn Brylee Glenn 5'10" | CG Barstow | 2021 State MO Ι 5’10″ CG Ι The Barstow School Ι KC Lady Run GMC Ι KState Commit
The long and athletic combo guard, Brylee has worked her way all the way back after suffering a knee injury back in December 2019. If not for her injury, there would be a serious conversation as to who is number one, Brylee, or her twin sister Jaelyn. She is a very competitive player that plays with no fear. She can attack the basket going left or right and excels in the open floor. Her range on her shot is out past the three-point line and she can play all 5 spots on the floor. Look for a monster injury-free season from Brylee!
