Kyla Cruz Kyla Cruz CG West Orange HS | 2021 State FL – She put on a really strong performance all day long. Kyla hit some tough shots and did a good job of taking care of the rock. She used her length as a guard to deflect passes and put a lot of defensive pressure for the entire length of the court. Look for her to have a breakout senior year at West Orange!
Shomari Phillips Shomari Phillips 5'11" | SF Winter Haven HS | 2021 State FL – She was the most improved player I saw at Red’s. Her outside shooting was on point, and she has a lot of strength and size that makes it tough on opposing teams. Winter Haven will be a big threat this year, and Shomari is going to play a huge role in that success.
Jayla Woods Jayla Woods 5'8" | CG Lake Mary | 2021 State FL – This was the most impressive showing I’ve seen from Jayla. She looked a step ahead of everyone and made some nice mid-range shots. Jayla drove to the hoop and showcased some nifty footwork that allowed her to get some good looks inside. I’m excited to see how her final season plays out at Lake Mary.
Stephanie Theodossakos Stephanie Theodossakos 5'10" | CG St. Andrews | 2021 State FL – She had a really solid mid-range game by hitting a bunch of 15 footers in the game I watched. Stephanie knows her game and crashed the glass hard. I liked her ability to create when she attacked the basket and got her teammates involved. She’ll bring a lot of versatility when she heads to the next level.
Bailey Carlson Bailey Carlson 5'8" | SF East Ridge | 2021 State FL – It would be tough to find a player who performed better at the event than Bailey. She showed a lot of leadership and carried her team when they needed her most. Not only is she a lethal scorer from everywhere, she’s incredibly vocal on both ends of the floor that showcases the high level of basketball IQ she possesses. College coaches will not want to pass on this talent!
Amarie Godwin Amarie Godwin 5'4" | PG Brooks DeBartolo | 2021 State FL – She was one of the best passers and overall guards at the event. Amarie used her quickness to get by everyone and consistently finished inside against opponents of all sizes. She’s able to hit the open look and you know she will dog you on the defensive end. Brooks DeBartolo will be no joke this year with their impressive squad led by upperclassmen.
Kelli Cunningham Kelli Cunningham CG FL – She showed everyone that she was a hard-nosed player who was very well-rounded throughout the event. She got up for some rebounds on both ends, set a couple hard screens, and is a quality and efficient player that is coachable and a solid teammate. Kelli was putting up some points in bunches. College coaches were definitely noticing her game!
Tajah Spaulding Tajah Spaulding 5'7" | CG Seffner Christian | 2021 State FL – She was always consistent on the floor and never tried to do too much outside of her game. Tajah shot it really well from all over with a solid floater, and she looks even more poised since last school year. She’s the type of player you want on your team as she will make that extra pass for the right play. I’m looking forward to her senior season with Seffner Christian!
Brionna McClinton Brionna McClinton 5'9" | SF Brooks DeBartolo | 2021 State FL – She played on one of the best teams in the state this summer, and you could see how that benefited her. Brionna has a lot of length and is a tough matchup as a guard with that combination of her length/height. She is tough to stop when she gets going as a scoring threat from all 3 levels. Her defense is always improving, and she’s going to help lead a tough Brooks DeBartolo team that will compete with anyone in the state.
