All of these players have the ability to play both inside and out, displaying great versatility as their primary unifying trait. This ability separates them from all the other positions and gives them a unique range of skills and abilities.
Amiya Jenkins Amiya Jenkins 5'10" | SF Anderson County | 2022 State KY , Anderson County- The top overall player in these rankings, Jenkins embodies all the tools one could want out of a forward. She can play inside and out on offense and guard all five positions on defense. She can rebound and even pass in addition to a nice scoring touch. She also has plenty of untapped potential thanks to her versatility and athleticism, meaning her production can still go up despite being solid so far.
Riley Neal Riley Neal 5'11" | SF North Oldham | 2022 State KY , North Oldham- Scoring is the name of the game for Neal, and it’s something she does extremely well. She has a great shooting stroke to go along with strong ball-handling and athleticism. She really possesses all the traits of a wing but has the size necessary to bang inside as a rebounder in addition to her superb scoring skills.
Emma Egan Emma Egan 5'8" | SF Bullitt East | 2022 State KY , Bullitt East- After using her versatility in a primarily supporting role last season, Egan will look to take a step forward in her volume of contributions this year. She has shown that she can defend multiple positions at a high level, as well as rebounding and scoring when needed. If she can take a step forward in her bigger role, especially on offense, Egan has a chance to take a big step forward.
Alyssa Elswick Alyssa Elswick 5'10" | C Shelby Valley | 2022 State KY , Shelby Valley- Despite being listed as a center, Elswick plays plenty on the perimeter in addition to her inside scoring. While her jump shot could use some work, she is adept at putting the ball on the ground and using a quick first step in addition to her size to get to the rim. If she can expand her range, Elswick will have all skills necessary for a modern face-up style forward.
Tyra Flowers Tyra Flowers 5'10" | SF George Rogers Clark | 2022 State KY , George Rogers Clark- Another player who has shown plenty of potential and can take a big step forward this year, Flowers has shown all the skills one could want out of a forward other than a consistent jump shot. As with others on this list, she can put the ball on the floor, rebound, and defend multiple positions. As she expands her range and takes on a bigger offensive burden, she too has the ability to shoot up this list.
