Breakdown:
Leah Doutt Leah Doutt 5'8" | PG McNary | 2021 State OR Finds a New Home
Over the summer, Doutt played on a front loaded Oregon Elite 17U Navy squad that had a lot of talent. Not that she wasn’t worthy, but at times there just wasn’t enough possessions to share for everybody on such a loaded team. Doutt looked every bit comfortable out there with her new squad, as she hit three from deep and had some nice scores all throughout the game. She finished with a team high 15 points off a brilliant shooting performance as she was Gold’s favorite perimeter knockdown target.
Triple Towers
Bishop is a new addition to Gold as she brings size and experience to a team that needed a little more in the post at times. She plays a veteran type of role on this team, someone that can lead through her presence but also allow her teammates to come in and play their game. She picked up offensive boards and scored nicely inside when her number was called, with some impressive footing in the paint. Lindsey Wilson Lindsey Wilson 6'0" | PF Mountainside | 2022 State OR and Gracie Arnold Gracie Arnold 6'1" | PF Cottage Grove | 2022 State OR combined for 16 points and 18 rebounds as the tandem took turns rebounding on their side and found ways to consistently score throughout the game. This three-headed forward combo worked out nicely for Oregon Elite, as any sort of combination of the three yielded out serviceable results.
Balanced Attack
By halftime, there were four players with five points or more, yet no one over five – showing that it was clearly a team oriented assault. By the end of the affair, there were six players over five points, with Doutt’s 15 points leading the way. These girls played together and for each other, highlighted by the Stone to Ericson to Wilson play near the end of the game. Reese Ericson Reese Ericson 5'6" | PG Lakeridge | 2022 State OR dished out a game high 6 assists and newcomer Bella Stone Bella Stone 5'5" | PG South Medford | 2021 State OR had 4 handouts of her own, as Oregon Elite looked to be in mid-season form as a team that doesn’t focus on the stats, but they accumulate them in the process of playing a very team minded game.
