The Expo Top 250 showcased some of Kentucky’s top players. These young ladies showed up with a passion for the game. They all desire to play at the next level. Here are a few players that caught my eye. Lets look at the forwards/posts.
Kennedy Lee– 2022- Dupont Manual- Kennedy showed off her rebounding ability at the expo. At 6’1″ she has long arms that help her rebound out of her area. She has good post moves around the basket. She has a big upside. She currently holds a D-1 offer. I would like to see her face up more.
Gracie Merkle Gracie Merkle 6'6" | C Bullitt East | 2022 State KY – 2022- Bullitt East- Gracie is listed at 6’6″ and moves well for her size. She takes up a lot of space. At the expo she controlled the lane helping over and getting blocks. She rebounds and outlets the ball quickly. She has good footwork around the basket. I would like to see her rim run more and start posting early.
Sarah Baker Sarah Baker 6'2" | C Ryle | 2024 State KY – 2024- Ryle- Sarah was one of the most patient young players at the expo. Every time she caught the ball in the post, she did the MJ lean back to fill for the defender. Once she knew where the defense was she made her move. I was impressed with her poise. Sarah rebounded well. She is going to be a very good player in the near future.
Kennedy Williams- 2022- Henry Clay- Kennedy has good athleticism. She jumps well. She had good timing on blocking shots. She was able to rebound and get put backs to help her team. Kennedy showed off some dribbling skills as well. I would like to see her take some outside shots to set up her drives to the basket.
