Continue ReadingAs we continue our look at top Oregon performances from last week’s action in Arizona – we are introduced to a list of familiar names along with some new faces. Sydney Burns Sydney Burns 5'8" | PG Wilsonville | 2021 State OR has been a constant in Oregon Elite Navy’s success in the last several months as the UC-Davis is a high caliber player that plays with a certain edge that is hard to match. Mackenzie Naro had a dynamic performance versus Oregon Elite Gold where all her points came alongside the arc. Mandy Sisul Mandy Sisul 5'9" | SG La Salle | 2021 State OR is an engaged two-way player for ABA whereas Jazzy Davidson continued to show her precocious offensive skillset for NW Stars White and Navy.
Emi Bishop is a serviceable forward who gets it done with extra marks as an activated rebounder and interior scorer for Oregon Elite Gold. Sofia Megert Sofia Megert 5'4" | PG South Eugene | 2022 State OR is a point guard who plays with an exclamation point as far as the many ways she can score – she is also an excellent facilitator with great court awareness. Keelie O’Hollaren Keelie O’Hollaren 5'10" | SG Lakeridge | 2023 State OR has been a staple in the Oregon Elite program this summer as she made the jump from Gold to Navy and more than proved that she belonged.
Sydney Burns Sydney Burns 5'8" | PG Wilsonville | 2021 State OR 2021 5’8″ SG Oregon Elite Navy/Wilsonville HS – There isn’t much to be said about Syd Burns that hasn’t already been mentioned – she is a player that is constantly trying to get an edge on her opponent with her high motor play – on both ends of the floor. She is an engaged piston that catalyzes her team in whatever way possible – in the half-court and transition setting. Versus San Diego Waves, she had a significant 12 point, 3 rebound, 5 assist, 2 steal effort where she showcased this uncanny quality to affect the game in a multitude of ways.
Mackenzie Naro 2022 5’8″ PG Clutch Cardinal/Beaverton HS – Naro is the middle of three sisters in the family, as she plays well within a structured system but the most noticeable difference between her and the others is her ability to shoot it. Mackenzie displayed this characteristic exceedingly well versus a talented Oregon Elite Gold team on her way to 18 points – all off three-pointers. She shot an eye-popping 6 for 8 from alongside the perimeter as she hit consistently throughout the course of the game for Clutch Cardinal.
Mandy Sisul Mandy Sisul 5'9" | SG La Salle | 2021 State OR 2021 5’10″ SG ABA/La Salle HS – Mandy is an activated defensive player who plays with a certain confidence on that end and is an aggressive finisher at the rim. Versus NW Stars Navy, she had a solid contribution as an activated two-way player, someone who hounds down her opposition on the defensive end of the floor as well as is calculated on the offensive end as she posted a 6 point effort.
Jazzy Davidson 2025 6’1″ SF NW Stars – Jazzy double dipped for NW Stars White and Navy as for both clubs she plays a similar role – a 6’1” point forward with an expansive tool-kit thanks to her physical attributes and skills as an elusive scorer. Playing so two clubs with so many games, it can be hard to pinpoint a certain game as an indicator of her skills, but one of her best performances came against Cal Sparks Gold against some serious competition. She contributed 8 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block, and 2 steals as a player with upside as a creative scorer with many options.
Emilia Bishop Emilia Bishop 6'1" | PF Wilsonville | 2021 State OR 2021 6’2″ PF Oregon Elite Gold/Wilsonville HS – Emi continued to show her consistency as an interior scorer and rebounder, as she was the biggest factor for Oregon Elite Gold down in the paint. She has a solid frame and mobility for someone her size as she is productive on the glass and gets a lot of good looks from offensive boards and deep positioning in the paint. Her 14 point total versus San Diego Sol was very representative of her low-scoring prowess as a prolific scoring option.
Honorable Mention
Sofia Megert Sofia Megert 5'4" | PG South Eugene | 2022 State OR 2022 5’5″ PG Oregon Elite Gold/South Eugene HS – Megert’s second tournament running with Oregon Elite Gold was this past weekend and she has garnered a lot more confidence since her first run and was able to showcase her eclectic talents. Megert is a consistent shooter who also has playmaking abilities as an inspired guard in the half-court setting. She has many different ways to score and is crafty and imaginative. Her 11 point, 3 rebound, 2 assist, 1 steal performance versus Clutch Cardinal was amongst her best showings last weekend.
Keelie O’Hollaren Keelie O’Hollaren 5'10" | SG Lakeridge | 2023 State OR 2023 5’10″ SG Oregon Elite Navy/Lakeridge HS – Keelie’s first action with Oregon Elite Navy came this weekend, as the Lake Oswego native was on a tear this past summer with their Gold team. Versus an athletic EBO 17 3SSB squad, she was able to see meaningful minutes and score 9 points and grab 3 rebounds in a spirited performance off the bench as a microwave-type of player who is incredibly efficient and has an excellent shot selection.
