Here’s a quick look at some of the top players who stood out at the event.
1. Erica Collins Erica Collins 6'2" | PF Chino Hills | 2022 State CA – Chino Hills 2022
Collins is a very good post player. She gets good position in the paint and she can power her way through the defense for an easy two. She has good hands and keeps the ball high. Has some nice spin moves and a little hook shot. Plays the high post well; she can see the floor and is a decent passer. Strong rebounder who fights hard on the offensive glass. She’s a rim protector on the defensive end.
2. Elle Ladine – Pinewood 2022
One of the biggest things that stands out about Ladine is her ability to move without the ball. She’s constantly in motion, never stationary. She’s solid in DHO plays with her bigs and she’ll rise up and shoot the midrange with consistency. Makes strong cuts to the rim. She’s good with the ball in her hands too. She can shoot off the dribble and she can slash her way to the rim. Strong finisher who uses ball fakes.
3. Skye Belker – Windward 2023
Belker is an intriguing young prospect who should be an integral part of the Wildcats this season. She has the tools to be a solid wing scorer. She’s comfortable with the ball in her hands and creating her own shot. She can shoot off the dribble and can hit step back jumpers. Very good outside shooter. She moves well on the perimeter and can free herself up for an open three. She’s a strong perimeter defender who moves her feet well and plays the passing lanes.
4. Andrea Stajic – Arroyo Grande 2022
Stajic is a forward with a nice looking jumper. She’s able to stretch the floor with her shooting. She shoots from three-point range with consistency and she’s able to rise up and shoot with a defender in her face. She can also pull up and knock down threes in transition. With the ball in her hands, she can create separation and hit step back jumpers. Defenders have to respect her outside jumper so throws shot fakes to get in closer.
